Vin Diesel was born Mark Sinclair alongside his twin brother, Paul, on July 18, 1967, in Alameda County, California. Vin has never met or known his biological father. He was raised by his mom in New York, alongside his stepfather, African-American Irving H. Vincent who is an acting instructor and theatre manager.

Diesel at the age of 7 made his debut stage appearance in children’s play “Dinosaur Door”. The play was produced in New York’s Greenwich Village at Theater for the New City. Diesel continued making theatre appearances all through his adolescent years. He made his debut movie appearance in “Awakenings” (1990). Next was a short film “Multi-Facial” (1994) which he wrote, directed and produced. He starred in “Saving Private Ryan” (1998), an Oscar-winning movie by Steven Spielberg. In the 1999 animated film, “The Iron Giant”, Diesel provided the voice for the titular character.

After landing a major role in drama thriller, “Boiler Room” (2000), Diesel’s breakthrough leading role came in the science-fiction film “Pitch Black” (2000).
