Richard Giannotti is a retired American Major League Baseball (MLB) player who took a bow in 2019 after nine years of playing for different teams. Afterward, he went on to prove himself as a man of many talents, joining the company known as Global Wealth Management where he serves as President of the organization’s Athlete Asset Management Division. In addition to being relatively well known as a result of his baseball career, Richard became even more famous what with his longtime girlfriend Joy Taylor, a talented and ever charming Fox Sports 1 host. Here’s how his story started.
Richard Giannotti’s Background
Richard Brandon Giannotti, better known as just Richard Giannotti, is an American executive best known as a former baseball player who had served in various USA baseball teams. Giannotti was born on August 9, 1983, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and he was also raised there by his parents Richard J. Giannotti and Susan Giannotti. He also has a step-sister whose name is Leslie Rennie.
Richard attended St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Ft. Lauderdale, in Plantation, Florida, and after his graduation, he enrolled in the University of Miami in 2001 to study finance, graduating from there in 2007 with a degree in Business Administration.
His Baseball Journey and Career Switch
Richard’s love for baseball games led him to join his high school baseball team. With the team, he established himself as a star and was a 1st team All-State Outfielder. As a result, the San Francisco Giants drafted him in the 20th round of the 2001 MLB June Amateur Draft.
However, rather than join the team, he decided to accept an athletic scholarship that was offered to him by the University of Miami. He continued his amazing play with the Miami Hurricanes, leading the team to several wins. Richard Giannotti maintained a spot on the draft boards of different teams and eventually became a professional Baseball player in 2004 after being drafted in the 38th round of that year’s MLB June Amateur Draft by the Anaheim Angels, now known as The Los Angeles Angels (the Anaheim-based baseball team had its name changed on January 3, 2005).
As a professional player, Giannotti played for different teams for about nine years and was known among his teammates as a friend and mentor who is always after the welfare of everyone. He played for the Los Angeles Angels from 2004 to 2007 before moving on to St. Louis Cardinals, playing for them from 2007 to 2008. The next five years saw him playing for the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs of the Atlantic League becoming a fixture in the team’s outfield and finally finding his niche in professional baseball.
Speaking in an interview one time, Richard revealed that he had always wanted to be a businessman and that once he decides to stop playing he would turn to business, adding that he would also want to stay around the baseball game. True to his words, the outfield ventured into a very profitable second career after nine years of playing baseball on the professional level, establishing his own firm known as Global Wealth Management.
The firm, which is based in his hometown, serves as an adviser to athletes on how they can preserve their income through smart investments. The company has Richard as its President and Financial Adviser. Before then, he founded a clothing line known as the Bubucheek Clothing with two of his friends in September 2008 and remained a part of the company until September 2014 when he left to start his own company.
How Much is the Former Baseballer Worth?
Richard Giannotti has managed to keep his financial details secret, nevertheless, one could draw a conclusion that the former baseball player has a very strong financial backbone following his nine years of experience as a Major League Baseball Player. His basic salaries, as well as his contract details and endorsements, are equally kept away from the public.
In addition to his earnings from the different baseball teams he played for, it is also believed that Richard is earning much more from his firm. Even though the exact amount of his net worth is not known, it is believed to be in millions.
