Her father, whose name remains unknown is a scientist, composer, and a musician while her mother, whose identity also shares the same mystery is a poet, artist and news anchor. Born in Los Angeles, California, Nishi Munshi is an Indian American having been born to Indian parents. The profession and interests of her parents meant that she got introduced into the world of creative arts at an early age.
When exactly she made her first appearance on stage remains unknown but she has gone on to appear in over 1000 live stage shows across multiple countries, performing in different capacities as a singer, dancer, and drummer. While she continued to feed her creative interests, Nishi Munshi has also excelled in her academic interests. From her high school days to her college days at the University of California, Riverside where she graduated at the top of her class and in the Dean’s List, she has not been known to fail. Her academic excellence also earned her a place in the UCDC program at Washington D.C and she served as a research candidate at the University of Sussex in Brighton, England.
However, of all her accomplishments (which there are several), it is her appearances on the screen that has made Nishi Munshi into a public and celebrated personality and her first appearance was in 2010, at the age of 20 when she played Leena in the film, Touch Wood.
Since then, she has gone on to star in several other onscreen projects, from film to television shows. Nishi starred in Switched at Birth in 2012 and made her first daytime television show appearance in 2011 in Days of Our Lives. Other notable appearances include The Originals as Gia (2014 to 2015) and Lethal Weapon (2018) where she played Erica Malick.
Whilst Nishi Munshi has mostly made her onscreen appearances in Hollywood projects, she has made a couple of appearances in Bollywood projects like My Name is Khan.
Outside of acting, Nishi Munshi is a human rights advocate, an interest she has in common with her mother. She is also a board member of Valley Family Center, an organization dedicated to serving victims of domestic violence.

For Nishi Munshi, the focus is her career and that is why you would be hardpressed to find her mired in any romantic scandal or rumor. In spite of spending the majority of her life in the entertainment industry, Nishi Munshi has remained a single woman, at least publicly.
