Mia Tyler’s Early Life
Mia Tyler was born on December 22, 1978, to parents Steven Tyler (father) and Cyrinda Foxe (mother) at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire.
Tyler’s father, Steven, was a lead singer for Aerosmith while her mother was an actress who made a mark for herself during her active years in Hollywood.
Raised primarily around Lake Sunapee, a lake located in New Hampshire, she has three siblings – Chelsea Anna Tallarico, Taj Monroe Tallarico, and her paternal half-sister called Liv Tyler, an actress who came from Steven’s relationship with model Bebe Buell. Born as Liv Rundgren on July 1, 1977, Mia’s half-sister is one year older than her and was formerly a model before moving into acting. She has served as United States’ Goodwill Ambassador for United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF) in 2003.
As a child, she inspired her father to write a song titled, Mia, which was entirely about her and was subsequently included in the Aerosmith album entitled ‘Night in the ruts’.
At the age of nine in 1987, Mia’s parents got divorced. And by 1990, she moved to New York with her mother but maintained a very close relationship with her father who doted on her. Tragedy struck in Tyler’s home in 2002 when actress Cyrinda died of a brain tumour, leaving beautiful actress Mia very devastated and heartbroken.
Currently based in Los Angeles, Mia Tyler got married to ex-Papa Roach drummer Dave Buckner in 2002. The wedding caused some ripples since it was big and overly romantic. But the marriage came to an end in 2005 when they filed for a divorce. This caused some disappointment especially among those who idolized her and the kind of wedding she had.
After her divorce, it looked like Mia took a long break until she got together with Brian Harrah who was a guitarist. The relationship was smooth and steady and by October 2007, Brian proposed and they were engaged. However, pressures began to take a toll on the two and in August 2008 they called off the engagement.
Most recently, however, Mia is said to be dating Dan Halen and on May 10, 2017, they welcomed their first child together, a baby boy named Axton Joseph.
Modeling Career
After making an appearance on the MTV show House of Style at the age of 17, Mia began her career as a model and represented the Wilhelmina modeling agency. Having made appearances in several elite magazines like Teen, YM, Vogue, Seventeen, Flare, etc, she also rose to prominence through her appearances on several runways of New York and Paris.
With over two percent of body fat, it still surprises many how Mia rose through the ropes to become a model for so many plus size people and models out there. There is no doubt that Mia is a beauty, but in a world where zero is a size, she sure made it big as a plus-size model.
Even though she is primarily considered as a plus-size model, Mia Tyler is also an author and has her autobiography entitled ‘Creating Myself’ which was released in 2008. In 2009, she launched her own clothing line named Revolution 1228 which did quite well too.
Mia Tyler’s Net Worth
Mia Tyler’s earnings saw a boost through VH1 reality shows like Celebrity Fit Club, which she became a part of in 2005, and Really Rich Real State in 2006. Together with her career as a model, Mia Tyler is also an actress, having featured in Rush Hour 3 as Marsha, People Are Dead and A Little Bit of Lipstick as mentioned earlier.
Having done marvelously well in Hollywood as an actress and on the runways as a model, Mia has amassed for herself an impressive asset base estimated to be at $5 million. She might not look as rich as most wealthy and prominent Hollywood superstars, but Tyler sure has big plans for herself, one of which is to build up her financial standing in the nearest future.
