Jessica Anne Rothenberg was born on May 28, 1987, in Denver. She became interested in performance at an early age and began taking dance classes when she was 8. Whenever she was on summer break, she would go to theatre camps around the city where she began honing her love for acting.

She graduated from Cherry Creek High School, located in Greenwood Village. After her high school graduation, she enrolled at Boston University, where she studied Fine Arts. While she was in college, Jessica Rothe explored many aspects of the arts from pottery making to tap dancing, and playing the violin.

Her career in acting began in 2009, shortly after she completed her studied at Boston University. She relocated to California and began auditioning for roles and after many months of doing so, she got her first break with a minor role on the show America’s Most Wanted: America Fights Back. This was followed by a series of minor roles in The Onion News Network as Katie Clements and Happy Ending, where she played a Teen girl.

The soul that she puts into her characters soon gained the attention of key players in the industry who informed her about auditions and cast her in the movies and television series that they were shooting.

Jessica Rothe got her first movie feature in a short film titled Promised Land. This was followed by the full-length picture, The Last Keepers, in which she bagged a minor role. Her portfolio was buttressed by roles in Hot Flashes, Jack Jules Esther and Me, Lily & Kat, Bastards of Young, Dissocia, Parallels, Juveniles, and The Preppie Connection.

Jessica was able to land more roles as the years progressed, each one more complex and career-defining than the last. She starred in Wolves, Trust Fund, Tater Tot & Patton, Summertime, Better Off Single, The Tribe, and the Academy Award-winning La La Land, where she portrayed the character, Alexis. Her other movie appearances include roles in Happy Death Day, Forever My Girl, Please Stand By, Valley Girl, and Happy Death Day 2U.

The Colorado town girl did not abandon the small screen while pursuing her career on the silver screen. She was lucky enough to land parts in series such as Blue Bloods, Gossip Girl, Happy Endings, High Maintenance, Futurestates, and Next Time on Lonny. Jessica Rothe has been kept busy with parts in various other television series including Chicago P.D, Mary + Jane, and Utopia.
