Who Exactly is Jada Pinkett?
The September 18, 1971-born American grew up in Baltimore, Maryland and attended Baltimore School for the Arts, majoring in dance and Theatre. After graduating from high school, Jada moved further to the North Carolina School of Arts where she further pursued her dreams of becoming an actress. It was, however, in her high school years that she met American actor and rapper Tupac Shakur who was at that time her classmate.
Jada Pinkett Smith started her acting career in 1990, after moving to Los Angeles. She started with a role in one of the episodes of the sitcom True Colors. Having done quite well with her first acting roles, Pinkett was then offered more acting roles on TV shows like the 1991 films, 21 Jump Street, Doogie Howser, M.D., and A Different World. Meet The Mom
Jada Smith is a daughter to Adrienne Banfield-Jones who is of Jamaican descent and Robsol Pinkett, Jr., a construction manager who is an African American. Her mother Banfield, who was a head nurse at an inner-city clinic in Baltimore, was pregnant with her while in high school. She then got married to Pinkett, Jr. but their marriage collapsed a few months after and Banfield had to take care of her daughter Jada singlehandedly, though with the support of her own mother Marion Martin Banfield. Jada’s mother named her Jada, after her favourite soap-opera actress, Jada Rowland.
Although Jada stayed with her mom all through her early years, she appeared to be closer to her maternal grandmother who took care of her while her mother battled with drug addiction. It was, in fact, her grandmother who discovered her passion for acting. Jada is not an only child of her mother, she has a brother whose name is Caleeb Pinkett. He is an actor like herself. Jada adores her mother, referring to her as one of her closest confidantes.
Jada’s mom is still alive and bubbling. In May 2018, she had the media set ablaze when she posted pictures of herself in a nice looking bikini. The picture which she posted on her Instagram page had her posing in a neon coloured two-piece that revealed her six-pack.
Husband & Kids
As earlier stated, Pinkett’s husband is Will Smith whom she got married to on December 31, 1997. The two first met when Jada auditioned for one of the characters in Smith’s TV show The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and although she was not given the role, she got something better, a friendship with Will that ended in marriage. They started dating in 1995 and after about two years, they decided to tie the knot at The Cloisters which is near her hometown of Baltimore, Maryland.
Jada Pinkett Smith and her husband Will are blessed with two children- Jaden Christopher Syre Smith, born on July 8, 1998, and Willow Camille Reign Smith, born October 31, 2000. Jada also has a stepson, Trey Smith. He is Will Smith’s son from his previous marriage.

The news about her death went viral on September 16, 2018, which was just a few days to her birthday and thousands of condolence messages began to flow in with most of her fans expressing how they are affected by the news. Jada’s rep responded the following day, dismissing the news about her death as fake. While some see the death news as a way of scoring the actress’ popularity, some others expressed their anger towards the news saying it was distressing and hurtful.
