Though her world mostly revolved only around her mother while growing up, Etta Ng Chok Lam is best recognized for her biological link to her super-famous father. Despite not having the ideal father-daughter relationship, the celebrity kid has remained in the spotlight, making headlines for various reasons. Contrary to expectations, Etta also has a warring relationship with her celebrity mom who raised her independently. Find out all there is to know about Jackie Chan’s youngest daughter.
Who is Etta Ng Chok Lam?
Etta Ng Chok Lam was welcomed into the world on January 18, 1999. She grew up in Hong Kong and lived a relatively low-key lifestyle until recently. Etta is the lovechild of Jackie Chan and Elaine Ng Yi-Lei, a former beauty queen and actress. Besides reports that Etta allegedly quit school, there is no information readily available about her educational endeavors and the schools she attended.
Strained Relationship With Jackie
After winning the 1990 Miss Asia, Elaine Ng Yi Lei made headlines again in the year 1999, after revealing that she had an illicit relationship with Jackie Chan and was carrying his child. Although Jackie who was already married at the time owned up to his actions, admitting that it was a mistake which almost every man is susceptible to, he never really accepted responsibility for his youngest daughter and the only child with the former beauty queen.
The pair apparently had a one-off romance and did not marry and Jackie wanted nothing to do with his ‘second family’. Consequently, Etta, who was raised by her single mom, developed a strained father-daughter relationship with Chan and never regards him as her father. While she claims not to begrudge her famous dad, Etta was never interested in meeting Jackie.
Moreover, there have been conflicting reports about Jackie’s roles in Etta Ng Chok Lam’s life over the years. There are reports claiming that while still married to his wife, Jackie used to provide child support for Elaine and Etta but cut all ties after the former beauty queen and Etta relocated to Hong Kong following some public controversies regarding the actor’s past.
On the other hand, Elaine Wu claims that she decided to take care of her daughter without Chan, adding that they have never received a single cent from Chan who never cared about their well-being nor offered any kind of help to them. Etta Ng Chok Lam also claims she had to deal with poverty while growing up and has never claimed any financial help from her famous father.
Contentious Relationship With Her Mother
Though raised alone by her mother, Etta Ng Chok Lam’s relationship with Elaine Wu hasn’t exactly been lovey-dovey. In fact, both women have had a contentious relationship as Etta has accused her mother of various crimes including cruelty and abuse. More so, it is alleged that Ng’s decision to quit school is partly as a result of the strained relationship she has with her mom.
On the other hand, Elaine Wu once disclosed that her daughter underwent psychological therapy following her struggles with some emotional problems. But after Etta relocated to Canada, she discontinued the therapy.

Married To Her Lesbian Lover
In October 2017, Etta Ng Chok Lam announced that she was a lesbian and was dating a Canadian social media personality, Andi Autumn. Ng also disclosed that she moved to Canada that same year at age 19 to live with Autumn who is 12 years her senior. Their lesbian relationship failed to win Ng’s parents’ support. This was confirmed in April 2018 when Ng made a viral YouTube video asking for help from the public while alleging that she and Autumn were on the verge of homelessness because of her homophobic parents. However, Elaine later denounced Ng’s claims, insinuating that her daughter was broke because of joblessness which could easily be solved by hard work and getting a job.
A few months later, Etta made headlines when she revealed on social media that she and celebrity girlfriend Andi Autumn had tied the knot. In an Instagram post, Ng uploaded a photo of themselves in white dresses holding their marriage certificate which confirmed that they married on November 8, 2018, in a ceremony which held in Toronto. The couple is based in Canada and has set up a multimedia company that is focused on producing “meaningful media projects”. Now united by love and law, Ng and Autumn hope their marriage will inspire other lesbian and gay couples to overcome family prejudices.
