On the 25th of August, 1987, in the San Fernando Valley neighborhood of Tarzana, Los Angeles, California, Blake Lively was born as Blake Ellender Brown. She is the daughter of Elaine (née McAlpin) and Ernie Lively (né Ernest Wilson Brown, Jr.) who named her after her grandmother’s brother. She has a total of four siblings; one from both her parents and three from her mother’s previous marriage.
While growing up, Lively spent a lot of time watching her parents teach aspiring actors how to act as they always opted to take their daughter with them instead of leaving her at home in the care of a babysitter.
