After an auditioning, Usher won a recording contract with the label. He released his self-titled debut studio album in 1994 at the age of 16. Some songs from the album were executive-produced by Sean Combs aka Diddy. His big break came with the release of his second album “My Way” (1997), the album produced Hot 100 number-one single “Nice & Slow”. Another single from the album “You Make Me Wanna” won Usher his first-ever Grammy Award.

The album was certified platinum 6 times by the RIAA. The third album “8701” produced chart-topping singles like “You Remind Me”, “U got it bad” and “U don’t have to call” which won him his second Grammy.
