Her birth parents gave her up for adoption and she has so far, never met them; but she was adopted and raised by a couple, a local Christian minister and his wife. She also has an older brother who was also adopted by the couple. Under their tutelage, she attended St. Dominic’s Catholic School for Girls, after which she attended Lady Grey Arts Academy.
Her decision to attend the Arts Academy was born out of an interest in music and performance arts that she had cultivated as a child. And through the academy, she developed further interest and gained more knowledge of her passion.
Eventually, after a long road of searching, Yolandi Visser joined her first band, The Constructus Corporation in 2002 and spent a year before she moved on to MaxNormal.TV, a hip-hop group where she was also the band leader’s personal assistant.
