What better way is there to eat one of the sweetest and yummiest things in the world other than from gold bedazzled wraps? The Ross Limited, a Kazakhstan company are the makers of Gargantua chocolate which they have dubbed the world’s most expensive and luxurious chocolate with an eyebrow-raising price tag of $14,000.

Gargantua’s box is far from the average chocolate tins we are used to, it comes in a spherical, faceted hexagonal box made of pure volcanic glass. Inside the glass box are six chocolates seated in their respective holes and adorned with gold of the 585th test.

Not one piece out of the six looks like the other. Each is designed in a specific geometric shape that symbolizes the elements in our environment. A tetrahedron represents fire, an octahedron symbolizes air, a cube stands for earth, icosahedron for water, a dodecahedron for ether and finally a scope signifying vacuum. It will be even more interesting if each piece tastes differently from the other, this, however, we can’t tell.

Many would at first guess choose the US or any of the first world countries as the makers of this spectacular piece, but while it is made in Kazakhstan, a country in central Asia, the inspiration for this collection was drawn from iconic veteran Hollywood actresses including Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn and Vivien Leigh. This is what Mr Adilkhan Sartayev, founder of The Ross Limited had to say;

These three superstars throughout their lives showed us an example of creating an absolute beauty. This is our value, and that is why we dedicate our gifts for them. The whole scheme of our brand is designed in accordance with the “divine proportion”, the golden section. Great artists and the creators of history have used the ratio of the “golden section”. Every detail is absolutely essential for us, as we want to make the best chocolate in the world.

To further reverence these iconic actresses, the makers also plan to send a piece of Gargantua to the studios and museums where the iconic actresses spent a greater part of the career.

As expected of a piece like this, it comes limited, for each collection, only 1000 pieces will be produced. What’s more? As an award to each buyer’s steadfast love for chocolates, he/she would have their names on the official website of The Ross Limited, accompanied by a star and a unique number.
