Having made a total of 18,940 (16.1) points, 7,494 (6.4) rebounds, and 6,135 (5.2) assists in NBA before retiring in 2005, Pippen has not strayed too far from the sport he has loved over the years.

Following his exit as a player, the Chicago Bulls honored him with the retirement of his No. 33 jersey – putting him among the four to have their jerseys retired by the team.

He seemed not to be able to stay away from the sport for too long as he found his way back to basketball at 42 in 2008 when he made a transitory comeback to play professionally for Torpan Pojat (ToPo) and Sundsvall.

In 2010, Scottie made a comeback to his former team Chicago Bulls, however not as a small forward but as the team’s ambassador. In 2011, the team appreciated Scottie with a bronze statue that was kept in the Bulls’ home arena. In the same year, he took part in the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game and in 2012, he became part of the team again but was saddled with the responsibility of being a senior advisor to the team’s president and COO, Michael Reinsdorf.

The 6 feet 8 inches tall former NBA player has remained a lover of the game. Frequently, he appears on both TV and radio sports shows, airing his views on basketball. Pippen is also frequent on the NBA channel, talking about the game and players.

Generally, Pippen is said to be enjoying the comfort zone of his retirement from basketball.

What Has He Been Doing Since His NBA Retirement?

Even though it is around the sport that he has tied his life, Scottie Pippen is now involved in different things, including entertainment where he has been involved in a number of TV shows and films.

In 2009, he was in Midgets vs. Mascot and the next year, he had a role in an episode of The Cleveland Show where he voiced himself. In 2015, Scottie made a cameo in an episode of Fresh Off the Boat and an episode of Chicago Fire. He also had other roles to his name, including in a 2017 episode of Lethal Weapon where he again portrayed himself.

That said, the legendary basketball star now shares his time between acting and basketball, although he is not so much into acting on a professional basis. He now resides in Florida with his family but has a home in Illinois which he bought in 2004. It was revealed earlier in 2019 that he has put up the home for sale for close to two million dollars.

On the side, he has also been working with his son, Scotty Pippen Jr. who, as one would rightly expect, is also taking to playing the same sport as his father. A 4-star recruit, he has committed to play college basketball at Vanderbilt. The basketball star made the announcement on Twitter while congratulating his son.

He has also had a little brushing with the law when in 2013, he was served a lawsuit by Camran Shafighi who asked for $4 million from the former basketball star in compensation after she accused him of assaulting her for taking photos of him inside and outside of a restaurant. Charges were later not filed against him.
