Tyreek Hill may appear as a fresher in the football league based on the year he joined the NFL, but he is certainly not unschooled in the nitty-gritty of the job. Playing for the Kansas City Chiefs as its top wide receiver, the American football player also performed well in other playing positions such as quarterback and punt returner.

Why else is Hill referred to as a Cheetah if not for his speed? With about 22.77 miles per hour, this player records one of the fastest speed any player of his time could reach on a kick return. Who Exactly is Tyreek Hill?

The Fort Lauderdale, Florida native was born on March 1, 1994, and was raised by his mother Anesha Sanchez. His father’s name is Derrick Shaw. Although information regarding his siblings, cannot be found, it is said that his parents were natives of Pearson, Georgia. Hill has an African-American root and he holds American nationality.

Tyreek Hill was a student of Coffee High School where he was a well a talented athlete. He also had his college education at the Garden City Community College where he not only studied but displayed his athletic prowess. He attended Oklahoma State University where he also played with the school’s team.

His Football Career

Sports has been a part of Tyreek Hill since his early years. While in high school, he was involved in track and field as well as football. He won several awards and accolades for his athletic skills – he won the 100 and 200-meter race, was named 2012 Track and Field News “High School Athlete of the Year”  and USA Today’s All-American track and field selection.

Hill continued with his sports activities all through his college years. In football, he played with the Broncbusters football team and had 659 rushing yards with 5 touchdowns. He also caught 67 passes for 532 receiving yards.

When Hill moved to Oklahoma State University, he debuted with the Cowboys on August 30, 2014, and had 6 passes for 62-receiving yardage in a loss to Florida State Seminoles football. Hill made 1,811 all-purpose yards and 6 touchdowns as a running back, wide receiver, and returner. He was also ranked 11th nationally in all-purpose yards.

At the University of West Alabama, Tyreek Hill’s football career with the Tigers faced some challenges following his battery case but he later achieved success in the long run. He joined the professional league in 2016, after being selected by the Kansas City Chiefs in the 5th round of the season’s NFL Draft. He made it as the first player from West Alabama to be drafted since 1974.

Hill finished his rookie season with 6 touchdowns and 61 receptions for 593 receiving yards. He was equally named a returned specialist to the 2017 Pro Bowl. The same year, he earned the name First-team All-Pro as a punt returner. In week 11 of the 2018 season, Hill recorded 10 catches for 215 yards and 2 touchdowns in a 54-51 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. His NFL career stats show he has a total of 201 receptions for 2882 yards and 24 touchdowns. He also recorded 54 rushing attempts for 407 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns.

Injury Updates

The City Chiefs most dangerous offensive weapon, Tyreek Hill had an ankle injury in the first half of a game against the Baltimore Ravens. His injury posed a huge threat to the Chiefs’ success in the season. However, there are reports that Hill was fast recuperating.

Hill was even seen practising with his injured ankle just to see his level of physical health. According to reports, Tyreek Hill is feeling alright. The Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid had even said that Hill should be OK to play against the Chargers.

Salary and Net Worth

As per Hill’s annual financial earnings, the Kansas Chiefs wide receiver earns $540,000 as salary, thanks to the 4-year $2,586,220 contract with the professional team but all things being equal, he is expected to earn a base salary of $630,000. His net worth is still under review.

Meet Tyreek Hill’s Girlfriend

Tyreek Hill isn’t married yet, but he sure has good relationships with the ladies. Although he has managed to keep information about his new date private, the Florida native is known for dating Crystal Espinal, his girlfriend since his time in Oklahoma State. She was the one who was pregnant with his child and who he physically abused during their time together.

According to reports, Hill tried to strangle his then-girlfriend during an argument between the two at his apartment. Espinal later pressed charges against Hill following his violent act against her and Hill pleaded guilty to all. He spent about a year behind bars after which he was forced to take anger management classes.

Towards the end of 2018, Tyreek reportedly got engaged to Crystal Espinal who now cares for their 3-year-old son named Zev. Hill officially proposed to Espinal during a low-key night out. Espinal now lives with her son in Kansas where Hill make out time to be with them.
