Johnson hails from a family of five comprising of father, Rocky, mother, Ata Maivia, and two elder half-siblings, Curtis and Wanda Bowles. Johnson’s father, Rocky, was also a renowned wrestler. Real name, Wayde Douglas Bowles, Rocky was born in 1944 and hailed from Nova Scotia, Canada. He dabbled into boxing as a teen, sparring with the likes of George Foreman and Muhammed Ali. He later switched to wrestling and joined the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) in the mid-60s.

Rocky spent 18 years with the NWA during which he won several laurels. The zenith of his career came in 1983 when he and his partner, Tony Atlas, became the first African-Americans to win the WWE World Tag Team Championship. Rocky retired from active wrestling in the 90s and dedicated himself to coaching his son, Dwayne. His son later inducted him into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2008, describing him as one of sports entertainment’s most influential performers. Rocky Johnson sadly passed away in January 2020 following complications from a blood clot. His death led to an outpouring of tributes from the WWE universe. His son also regretted that he did not get a chance for a final hug and kiss.

Following the demise of his father, Dwayne Johnson now counts on the support of his mom and siblings. Mother, Ata, is originally from Samoa and is the daughter of a great Samoan-American wrestler known as Peter Maivia. She is primarily a homemaker and dedicated herself to raising her son through the difficult formative years. They are therefore quite close and in 2014, the Hollywood star revealed that his mom and her cousin had survived a road accident. He also stated his gratefulness for the fact that the duo escaped unhurt. There are not many details on what Johnson’s half-siblings are up to. The most that is known is that his brother, Curtis, resides in Hamilton, Ontario, and is a businessman. He also has plans to make a movie about his illustrious father. Dwayne’s sister, Wanda, is also thriving. She is married and goes by the surname Cunningham.

Dwayne Johnson has not only successfully navigated his professional life but also his personal affairs. The Hollywood star was previously married to entertainment magnate and businesswoman extraordinaire, Dany Garcia. Garcia is a native of Miami and spent several years working for the renowned investment firm, Merrill Lynch. She is now the CEO of Garcia Companies, a conglomerate that has its tentacles in the entertainment, food, and tequila industries. Johnson and Garcia first met during her college days at the University of Miami. They later commenced a relationship and tied the knot on the 3rd of May 1997.

Their marriage lasted for a decade during which they welcomed a daughter named Simone Alexandra, who was born in August 2001. The couple later went their separate ways in June 2007 with their divorce quite amicable. Dany still serves as her ex-husband’s manager and is primarily responsible for transforming his brand into a multi-million dollar empire. She runs Seven Bucks Production, the production company that is responsible for several of Johnson’s blockbusters including Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, Hobbs & Shaw, and Baywatch. Dwayne Johnson has moved on with his love life and is married to Massachusetts native, Lauren Hashian. Hashian was born in September 1984 and is the daughter of a former rock star, Sib Hashian. Just like her dad, Lauren is a singer, songwriter, and music producer. She has released several singles including Memory and You Are Mine. She also dropped a music video, Go Hard, in 2017. Lauren and The Rock first met in 2006 on the set of the family comedy, The Game Plan. They subsequently started dating and moved in together shortly thereafter. The couple kept their romance under wraps for the first few years. They later made their debut red carpet appearance at the premiere of G.I. Joe in 2013.

Lauren and Johnson have been together ever since then and have welcomed two daughters namely, Jasmine (born in December 2015) and Tiana Gia (born in April 2018). The couple also formalized their vows in a low-key ceremony held in Hawaii on the 18th of August 2019. The actor took to his Instagram account to share the good news and posted a picture of him and his wife in white outfits. Despite their relationship being over a decade long, Johnson remains smitten by his wife and once stated that he was so “thankful and grateful to have the love of his life by his side”. Dwayne Johnson is the proud papa of three daughters, namely Simone, Jasmine, and Tiana, and he never tires of expressing his love for them. On International Women’s Day 2020, the actor shared a heart-warming video in which he got his youngest child to repeat positive affirmations such as “I can do anything”, “I am a pretty girl” and “I am a very smart girl”. Such positive reinforcements and public show of affection are already yielding results as eldest daughter, Simone is set to become a pro wrestler. The young lady officially signed a contract with the WWE universe in February 2020 and has commenced training at their performance center in Orlando, Florida. Reacting to the contract, Simone disclosed that being able to carry on her father’s legacy meant the whole world to her. Her dad on his part also praised her and encouraged her to create her own road whilst carrying the family name.
