A lot has been written already about how every bride wants her wedding to be the talk of the town. Yea to make all the buzz possible, but how about when the groom is so rich that he wants nothing short of multi-million dollar wedding? I mean something way beyond luxurious wedding which can only echo in the fact that money is absolutely not the headache.
And that is where the wedding between the son of Brunei head of state, Prince Abdul Malik and Dayangku Raabi’atul ‘Adawiyyah Pengiran Haji Bolkiah, rolls in. The royal wedding took place yesterday and amazingly was not just a small royal family affair. As expected, it was a supreme royal wedding to be quoted at all times. The royal bride and the prince made their guest stood in awe of their wonderful occasion. The wedding which was held at the monarch’s 1,788-room palace in Brunei’s capital, Bandar Seri Begawan, got hundreds of highly profiled guests wanting for more as it spoke only the words “money, love and happiness” Anyone who was a guest at the wedding will be well familiar and conversant with the fact that the wedding was divine and expensive. In fact, it is a timeless classic wedding ceremony that will not easily join the waned.
In case you are not accustomed to the wealthiest individuals in the world, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, the father of the groom is the 29th and current Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei. He is also the first and incumbent Prime Minister of Brunei. The net worth of the Sultan as estimated by Forbes in 2008 is at $20 billion. Now you can agree with me that money indeed speaks the word for this family. No wonder their wedding was over the moon.
The couple wedded banquet yesterday at the Nurul Iman Palace in Bandar Seri Begawan. The extravagant and luxurious wedding that filled their guest with wonder was in one word “golden”.
Note that the Prince is the youngest child of the Sultan, Hassanal Bolkiah, and his wife, Queen Saleha. He is second in the line of succession to take the the crown of the next Sultan of Brunei
You could see the glittering jewels in the lavish wedding of the son to one of the wealthiest man in the globe.
The couple dressed in corresponding traditional Malay dress, with the bride’s veil made of swathes of intricate lace, now that’s lavishing right?
Well, the bride, wore a dazzling diamond tiara studded with six teardrop-shaped emeralds. A diamond necklace with a central pendant of three emeralds the size of grapes, glittered around her neck, while a matching brooch of two egg-shaped emeralds dangled from a diamond setting. Notice the crown on the head of the 22-year-old who worked as a systems data analyst and IT instructor.
