Tamara Braun was born in Evanston, Illinois in the United States on April 18, 1971, into a family that is of Jewish descent. Her father, Bennett Braun, and mother, Renate Braun are psychiatrists and psychologists respectively.
She attended the Evanston Township High School, and thereafter proceeded to the University of Wisconsin, Madison in the United States where she studied psychology – just like her parent. While there, she took a summer course in Shakespeare at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in England, as her passion to be an actress grew very strong.
She began her acting career in 1997 featuring in the television series The Sentinel while her film debut was in Fallen Arches (1998) taking the role of ‘Jenny’. She went ahead to feature in movies like Little Chenier (2006), Pretty Rosebud (2014), Stalked By My Ex (2017) and featured in a series of soap operas.
Tamara Braun won an Emmy in 2009 for her ‘Outstanding Supporting Actress’ role in the television series Days of Our Lives. In recognition of her sterling performances, she has also been nominated and has won some of other prestigious awards.

1. Her grandparents were holocaust survivors
Long before Tamara was born, her maternal grandparents, Erwin Samuel Duetsch and Steffi Buch, were survivors of the holocaust that took place between 1941 and 1945. That period was not the best time to be a Jew, as more than 6 million Jews were wiped out during the period.
Living during World War II, was bad enough, but having to contend with the horrors of the Holocaust as a Jew, only made matters worse for Tamara’s grandparents, who were based in Breslau, Germany (now known today as Wroclaw, Poland) at the time. They managed to get away before the horrors of the Holocaust could reach them.
2. The Braun family karaoke band
Tamara has a very close-knit family, and they enjoy each other’s company a lot, so much that they formed a karaoke band that was made up of the entire Braun family. The band includes Tamara who plays the bass guitar, her mother, Renate – who plays the keyboard, while her father, Bennett – is the lead singer, as he is the one with the best voice in the family.

While Tamara Braun was a cast member of the popular American soap opera called “All My Children”, there was a particular episode in which she and her fellow co-star Eden Riegel – who plays the role of Bianca, became the first-ever same-sex couple to get married on Television; this was in 2008/2009, when same-sex marriage was still illegal and unheard of in most parts of the world. The on-screen wedding took place on February 14, 2009, which was coincidentally St. Valentine’s Day – set aside to celebrate love and lovers all over the world.

She met Alicia Leigh Williams, while she was a member of the cast of the television show “General Hospital” in 2001; and she equally met Rick Hearst on the same show in 2002. They have remained very close friends, even after leaving the show, and moving on to other projects in life.
