Steve-O is best-known as a stunt performer, actor, film producer, director, screenwriter, and presenter. He took his wild stunts to the road in 2002 for his Don’t Try This at the Home tour. That year, he appeared in the first of several Jackass films and that was the beginning of his rather interesting career breakthrough. With this very exciting line-up of activities, Steve-O has built up some reasonable asset value. But how did he come this far?
He Started As A Circus Performer
Born Stephen Gilchrist Glover in London, England, Steve-O lived in multiple countries during his childhood, including Brazil, Venezuela, and Uganda before moving to Florida where he eventually attended the University of Miami. He eventually dropped out due to poor grades. Steve-O also attended the University of New Mexico for one year.
He then attended and graduated from the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Clown College in 1997. After graduation, he worked as a clown in a circus at the Fort Lauderdale Swap Shop flea market. During this time, he recorded many videos that caught the eye of the Jackass team who invited him to join them. This marked the start of his career in entertainment.
Jackass became a box office hit, leading to the release of more instalments of the movie by MTV, including Jackass: The Movie, Jackass Number Two, Jackass 2.5, Jackass 3D, and Jackass 3.5.
His Notable Stunts on Jackass
With what he does and how he does it, you can be sure that Steve-O has come face to face with death on more than one occasion. But each time, he seems to always have a narrow escape. He once showcased the serious burns he sustained while doing a stunt and it was really severe.
In a video which he posted on his page, he revealed that the effects of the burns were still painful two months later, leaving legions of his fans worried about his wellbeing. Steve-O filmed a close-up of the grim blemishes starting with his hands and other parts of his body.
When you think crazy stunts, think Steve-O and you can be sure that no one does them better. Some of the most mind-blowing so far are:
1. He once set his head on fire.

But most recently he has gone on to become a touring comic and YouTube star with over 5 million followers. His net worth is an estimated $ 2.5 million as of 2018.
What Makes Him Special?
Speaking of his personality, Steve-O has the most eccentric of them all. He’s been known for doing the craziest things and getting just the right attention for it. His style of stunts and personality make him an admirable force among fans.
His tattoos are also another eye-catching thing he has going for him. If you think you like tattoos, wait till you know how much Steve loves his ink. Most infamous amongst all of his tattoos are the words “your name”, boldly written on his right butt. He got the tattoo just so he can say “I have your name tattooed on my ass”, to anyone.
The next infamous tattoo is one that depicts his own face covering half of his back and saying “yeah dude, I rock!”. How much more egotistical can one person be right? Overall, Steve-O pulls all the stops to make his point, even if it puts his life on the line. But that’s just what makes him awesome and leaves his avid fans craving for more.
The Low Moments Of His Career and Recovery
In 2008, executives requested that Steve-O be booted out of MTV studios for intoxication and bad behaviour. It was discovered that he binged on different mind-altering substances including ketamine, PCP, and cocaine. Later, his friends received an email that hinted at his possible suicide. As a result, Steve-O spent most of 2008 and early 2009 in rehab due to drug addiction.
First was a 72-hour psychiatric hold that was later extended to 14 days. In June of that year, he pleaded guilty to felony possession of cocaine but avoided jail to complete a treatment program. When he left rehab, he became a vegan and has been dedicated to it to date. After that, he started touring on a comedy show.
He Returns To Reprise His Role In Jackass
In March of 2009, immediately he got out of rehab, he appeared on Dancing with the Stars. Although he couldn’t continue to due to his health challenges, he reprised his role until 2012.
In September 2013, Steve-O launched a YouTube channel where he uploads stunts and prank-oriented videos and has since acquired over 5 million followers. In 2018, he marked 10 years of sobriety and seems to be bent on staying clean.
Steve-O and His Busy Love Life
Steve-O might sound like a totally crazy dude but the ladies sure love his brand of craziness. His love life has not been dull nor lacking in drama. There always seems to be a legion of ladies who are willing to keep the Jackass star occupied.
Right now, however, it looks like the star has finally found lasting love. But before his current relationship, Steve-O was married to Candy-Jane Tucker in 2001, but the marriage ended in 2003.
He Gives Love Another Chance
In 2006, he tried matrimony again with Brittany Mcgraw. This lasted until 2008 when they went their separate ways. After this, he tried to stay off serious commitment.
Nevertheless, he continued to date and was in a relationship with several women, including Stacey Solomon from whom he moved on to a tattoo artist – Kat Von D. Most recently, he proposed to his girlfriend Lux Wright on stage during the end of a comedy special he was filming in Denver with his Jackass co-star.
