Who Is Sia and How Old Is She?
Sia is a multi-talented Australian musician, record producer, songwriter, and director. She was born Kate Isobelle Furler in Adelaide, South Australia on the 18th of December 1975. She is the daughter of Phil Colson (a musician) and Loene Furler (an art lecturer). As a kid, Sia loved music and stage performance such that she would imitate some of her favourite stars such as Aretha Franklin, Sting, and Stevie Wonder. Regarding her education, she studied at Adelaide High School.
The start of her music career was witnessed in the mid-90s when she joined “Crisp,” a local acid jazz band. In the band, she functioned as a singer lending her voice to the birthing of an album for the group called, “Word and the Deal” in 1995, then an EP called, Delirium, which was released in 1997. After the group disbanded, Sia decided to start a solo career and as a result of this, she pitched her tent with “Flavoured Records.” She released her first album titled, Only See, on the 23rd of December 1997. Unfortunately, the album sold only 1,200 copies.
Journey To Musical Success
Due to the poor performance of her first album, Sia decided to relocate to London, England. While there, she was part of the singers who provided back up voices for the Zero 7 (British Music Duo). She soon released her second project titled, Healing Is Difficult, in 2000. However, she wasn’t satisfied with the way the album was marketed. Her third album titled, Colour the Small One, was released in 2004 but this too failed to record much success commercially. This setback led her to move to New York City in the United States in 2005.
While in the US, Sia soon released two other albums (her fourth and fifth) between 2008 and 2010. Still not satisfied with the outcome, she decided to take a break from touring and performing altogether in order to focus on writing for others which seemed to be more successful than writing for herself. Some of her most successful writing gigs include; Titanium, Wild Ones, Diamonds e.t.c.
However, due to her undaunting spirit and personality, she made another attempt with yet another album, her sixth studio album, 1000 Forms of Fear, released in 2014. To her utmost surprise, the album debuted on the number 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart with one of her singles, “Chandelier” reaching top 10.
Her seventh studio album titled, This Is Acting, was birthed two years later in 2016. Her single, “Cheap Thrills” from the album, claimed the number 1 spot, her very first Billboard Hot 100 entry. In addition to her music career, the singer has equally received several accolades; some of which include an MTV Video Music Award, and an ARIA Award.
What Does Sia Look Like?

Recently, however, she performs sometimes without the face-covering wigs and bow headgear and from the picture above you can see what she actually looks like.
