Sarah Bolger has an apparent charisma to join the Hollywood A-list actresses and with the way she has been blossoming, it won’t be long before she hits it big in the industry. Already, she enjoys many critical acclaims both in her country Ireland and abroad. Some of her accolades include the Shooting Stars Award at the Berlin International Film Festival and Best Actress in a Supporting Role – Television at the 2010 Irish Film & Television Awards. On 28th February in 1991, Sarah Bolger was born in Dublin to Irish parents, father Derek – a butcher and mother Monica – a housewife. Even though her family wouldn’t be regarded as wealthy, Sarah considers her childhood experience fantastic. She was raised in a Catholic household with her younger sister Emma Bolger. Her parents, though not strict Catholics, Sarah became very committed to her faith. On her own volition, she decided to hold onto the faith, a practice she continues till date. At age 17, she had a priest bless her hand and afterward became eligible to assist the minister in handing out the sacramental wine and wafers even as a famous actress she is today.
For her education, Sarah realized quite early enough what her calling was and as such, she started early to get trained on her skills. She schooled at The Young People’s Theatre School in Dublin and at age 12, she joined Loreto High School Beaufort in Rathfarnham.

Sarah Bolger spent a good part of her childhood on film sets, having started acting in 1999 at a young age of 8. At the inception of her career, she got cast in a biopic A Love Divided and Secret Affair (1999). After a string of bit parts in films such as In America (2002) for which she was nominated for a Critics Choice Award, The Clinic (2004), Tara Road (2005) and Stardust (2006), she received her first leading role in the adventure film The Spiderwick Chronicles as Mallory Grace in 2008. That same year, she began to portray Princess Mary Tudor in the historical drama series The Tudors which aired its last season in 2010.
Her second breakout role came in the fantasy series Once Upon a Time in which she played Princess Aurora, the daughter of King Stefan and Queen Briar Rose. She followed this up with featuring in the adventure series Into the Badlands and in sci-fi series Counterpart released in 2015 and 2018 respectively.
Sarah got another major TV role on the crime series Mayans M.C as Emily Thomas. The success of the series’ first season led to the airing of its second season in October 2018.
While she took the TV scene by storm, Sarah Bolger also drew attention with her numerous big screen roles in different categories of films such as Crush (2013), Kiss Me (2014), The Lazarus Effect (2015), The Moth Diaries (2011), Halal Daddy (2017), among others.
More recently, it was announced that Sarah will be part of a crime-thriller film A Good Woman Is Hard To Find, written by Academy Award nominee, Ronan Blaney. Aside from starring in films and TV shows, Sarah has received positive reviews for her voice work in Up on Poppy Hill, a Japanese animated drama film released in 2011, as well as in the video game The Spiderwick Chronicles (2008), reprising her role in its movie.

In her early career, Sarah Bolger played sister to her real-life younger sister Emma Bolger in In America (2002). It was her sister who first auditioned and nabbed the role, even though Sarah Bolger had more exposure to acting. Then she asked director Jim Sheridan to check out her sister who was waiting which he did and immediately recognized the perfection it would bring. He finally signed both sisters to the deal.

Sarah is not open about her private life but there have been gossips that she is dating her Once Upon a Time co-star Julian Morris. The alleged romance started in 2012 but the lovers have chosen not to make it a public subject. This isn’t the first time Sarah has been rumored to have fallen in love onset. In the past, she was linked to English actor Freddie Highmore, her co-star in the movie The Spiderwick Chronicles and the relationship reportedly lasted for three years.
