Cherished internationally as Wade Welles in the TV series Sliders, Sabrina Lloyd was born on November 20, 1970, in Fairfax County, Virginia. She spent her formative age in Eustis Florida where she started her career as a 13-year-old in the local theatre. The theatre background soon turned into her greatest asset as it provided her the knowledge she used in excelling in her career.
During her school days, she began acting non-professionally in school dramas and once played Pepper in Annie, a musical based Broadway production. In 1985, she became part of a student exchange program which allowed her to relocate to Brisbane Royal, the capital of Queensland in Australia. During her one-year stay in the city, she joined Brisbane Royal Theatre Company to hone her skills. She then spent the next three years performing only in theatre productions.
In 1988, after returning to the United States, precisely New York City, Sabrina continued her theatre performances. At the same time, she began to work as a bartender. But as the stress of combining the bartending job and acting began to take a toll on her, she decided to scout and audition for acting roles.
In 1990, she won her first role in an episode of Law & Order: Intolerance (1992). Her performance in the series earned the actress a new agent and as well gave her career a huge boost. The same year, she secured her first breakthrough role in the movie Chain of Desire and a starring role in Father Hood (1993).
She went on to appear in numerous television movies and films. Some of her notable TV works include Lifestories: Families in Crisis and Love Off Limits. In 1995, Sabrina successfully auditioned for the role of Wade Welles in the TV series Sliders which gained widespread fame in its third season. However, it was canceled by Fox. Her next gig was a co-starring role as associate producer Natalie Hurley in the ABC sitcom Sports Night in 1998.
