If you are not familiar with the name Roseanne Park, one is likely to hear the name and think of an African American only to discover that the personality in question is an Asian woman. Roseanne Park, or as the majority of her fans and followers of K-Pop music know her, Rosé, was born on the 11th of February, 1997 to father Mason Park and unknown mother in Auckland, New Zealand. She is the youngest daughter and child of her parents, with her only sibling being Alice Park.
After seven years of being raised in Auckland, Roseanne and her family relocated to Melbourne, Australia where she completed her basic education at Canterbury Girls’ Secondary College.
Before she took the step that changed her life in 2012, Roseanne Park had grown up learning the piano and guitar and sang regularly in the church choir as part of her quest to become a professional musician.
Thus, when her father, Mason Park learned of an audition being conducted by South Korean label, YG Entertainment, in 2012, both himself and Rosé were primed for the audition. The audition had 700 candidates in attendance and Park’s talent and skill got her the first position amidst. This led to her signing her first major contract with a label at the age of 15.
With the contracts signed, Roseanne Park relocated to her parents’ home country, in Seoul where she continued to train as a singer and after four years, was announced as a member of the girl group, Blackpink in June 2016.
While she has remained a member of Blackpink as its lead singer and has been a part of album releases like Square One and Blackpink in Your Area, Rosé is also a successful solo singer and she has featured in a couple of songs, such as Without You, which rose to number 15 on the Billboard K-pop Hot 100.
