He promptly gained admission to the University of Nevada in Las Vegas where he joined the UNLV Runnin’ Rebels. Patrick played for 2 seasons with the UNLV Runnin’ Rebels and averaged 12.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.0 steals over 65 games.

NBA Career

Patrick began playing professionally in 2016 when he declared for the NBA draft on the 4th of April and got selected by the Milwaukee Bucks as the 38th overall pick. However, for cash considerations, he was soon traded to the Golden State Warriors. During his 1st season with the Golden State Warriors (2016-2017), Patrick demonstrated his prowess and abilities on the court and averaged 4.0 points, 1.4 rebounds and 1.1 assists after appearing in as many as 71 games for the team.

However, even though he was in very high spirits to continue stunning fans with his skills on the court, his 2017-2018 season with the Golden State Warriors was cut short when he suffered a horrific injury during a match against Sacramento Kings. The injury ultimately made him miss the remaining days in the season.

On the 30th of December, 2018, having fully recovered from his injuries and having been in the free-agent market for as many as six months, Patrick finally signed a contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers. However, he played in just 3 games for the Cavaliers before he left and signed with the Toronto Raptors on January 10, 2019.

Patrick McCaw was injured on Saturday, the 31st of March, 2018, during a game against Sacramento Kings. As the game progressed into the third quarter, Patrick’s teammate, Jordan Bell, threw a pass to Patrick who caught the ball and made a layup. However, in the process, he was undercut by Vince Carter, a Sacramento Kings’ player and landed very hard on his back.

Patrick’s father was around to watch the match that day and rushed to his son’s side. The young athlete’s fall on his back was so bad that he had to be carried away on a stretcher.
