Omarion was born Omari Ishmael Grandberry on November 12, 1984, in Inglewood, California. He began performing at the age of 5 and appeared in McDonald’s and Kelloggs Corn Pops commercials. Omarion also appeared in the music videos of R&B girl group, Before Dark.
The Beginning of Omarion Music Career
Omarion began his music career in early-2000s as the lead singer of R&B boy band B2K. The band formed by Chris Stokes released their first self-titled album in 2002. The album peaked at #2 on the Billboard 200 and #1 on the U.S. Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs albums chart. It produced hit singles like “Uh Huh” and “Gots Ta Be”.
B2K’s popularity increased with the release of their 4th single “Bump Bump Bump” which featured P. Diddy. The single which was part of their second studio album – Pandemonium! (2002) peaked atop the Billboard Hot 100. Following disagreements about the management of Chris Stokes, the group disbanded.

The RnB singer has three brothers and three sisters, O’Ryan, Tymon, Ukil, Amira, Arielle, and Kira Grandberry. Omarion’s younger brother, O’Ryan is also a RnB singer. He released a self-titled album in 2004 which aimed at the teen pop audience.
