His life began on the 13th of November, 1960 and he has spent the majority of it being an entertainer. Born in South Side, Chicago, Flynn was raised in a Roman Catholic household as the son of Irish parents and completed his basic education at Waukegan East High School.

Right from high school, Neil Flynn’s propensity for entertainment began to manifest as he won the Illinois Individual Events championship for his acting and was a member of his university’s Speech Team when he was in college at Bradley University.

Before diving into his onscreen career, he started out working with a couple of comedy groups like Goodman and Steppenwolf and was a part of the improv team, Beer Shark Mice.

He has been the recipient of a couple of awards and nominations over the course of his life, including the Critics’ Choice TV Award for his work on The Middle.

During the early part of his career, he also starred in films like Major League, Rookie of the Year, The Fugitive, Baby’s Day Out and a couple more others.

Neil Flynn starred in several movies and TV Shows well into the early 2000s, appearing in various minor roles until 2001 when he was cast as the Janitor in Scrubs. His performance on the show transformed him into a popular actor and he went on to star in 170 episodes of the show, between 2001 and 2009.

After the show ended in 2009, he picked up another major role in The Middle as Mike Heck and appeared in 214 episodes of the show between 2009 and 2018.
