Anyone who watched the hit Canadian police drama TV series Rookie Blue should already know the former fashion model and actress Missy Peregrym. She is the beautiful Canadian lady who played the lead role of the police officer ‘Andy McNally’ in the show that aired simultaneously on ABC (in the US) and on Global Television Network (in Canada) between 2010 and 2015. Though that is probably Missy’s most referenced movie role in recent years, it is not her only work. She is credited with no less than 30 roles in both TV and film since 2002 when her career took off.

Early Life and Career

A Canadian national, the actress and former model was born and named Melissa Peregrym on June 16, 1982, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. His father is a Christian minister named Reverend Darrel Peregrym while her mother is Vanessa Peregrym, a homemaker. While we have little information about Missy Peregrym’s childhood including where and when she had her basic education, she revealed that she was a tomboy while growing up. After her elementary school, Missy proceeded to receive her high school education at Fleetwood Park Secondary School, a well-established public high school in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada.

Once her high school days were over, Missy Peregrym enrolled at Aurora College in the Northwest Territories (NWT) of Canada in 2004. While we do not know the course that Peregrym pursued at college, we know she had been about 4 years into her professional career as a model before she enrolled at Aurora. She set out at 18 years of age under the guidance of Lizbell Agency. Initially, she had been focused on plying her modeling trade via print media. But it was her managers at Lizbell who advised her to shift to screen advertising. This shift turned out to work well for Peregrym as it opened doors for her to represent high-profile names such as Mercedes-Benz and the Olympic Games.

Missy Peregrym is currently starring as ‘Maggie Bell’ in the CBS crime drama TV series FBI which premiered on September 25, 2018. This comes on the heels of no less than 30 other roles she has held over the years. Her first credited movie role was as ‘Hottie Blood’ in the FOX cyberpunk TV series Dark Angel (an episode, 2000). Since then, she has had the following roles on TV: As ‘Julia’ on The Chris Isaak Show (an episode, 2002); as ‘Tory Stratton’ in Black Sash (main role, 2003); ‘Girl in a bar’ in Jake 2.0 (an episode, 2003); as ‘Gina’ in Tru Calling (an episode, 2003) and as ‘Lissett’ in Andromeda.

Among other roles, Missy’s main TV roles over the years have included the character ‘Jackie Bradford’ in the ABC’s teen drama TV series Life As We Know It (2004 to 2005) and as ‘Andi Prendergast’ in the comedy TV series, Reaper (2007). As already said, she was in a starring role as ‘Andy McNally’ in the series Rookie Blue (2010 to 2015). Then, she received the recurring role of ‘Candice Wilmer’ in NBC’s science fiction TV drama series, Heroes (2007). In 2012, she appeared in 9 episodes of Yahoo’s web series Cybergeddon. Between 2017 and 2018, she played the recurring role as ‘Scarlet Van Helsing’ in the dark fantasy horror drama TV series, Van Helsing.

The actress has also played some important film roles after her first credited role as ‘Farley Graham’ in the 2006 film Stick It. Missy Peregrym was ‘Casey Wade’ in Wide Awake (2007); ‘Amy’ in Something Red (2011) and as ‘Jenn’ in Backcountry (2014). Then, she had a voice role in the 2017 film Pywacket.

Missy Peregrym’s Husband and Family Members

Missy Peregrym has been married on two occasions. Her first marriage was with the American actor and singer Zachary Levi who is famous for starring as Chuck Bartowski in the action-comedy series Chuck. Missy’s marriage with Zachary was in June 2014 but it sadly never lasted up to a year as it ended in divorce in April 2015. The separation between them actually happened in December 2014 as per court documents.

With that marriage over, Missy stayed single for more than three years before getting hooked with the Australian actor Tom Oakley. Their wedding held on December 30, 2018, at Smogshoppe wedding venue in downtown Los Angeles, California. It was a splendid evening filled with love and laughter. The wedding took place in the presence of close their family and friends. Missy wore a strapless Vivienne Westwood gown beaming her smile all the way beside Tom who sported a black Ralph Lauren tuxedo. We hope this beauty continues to characterize their union.
