Mark Zuckerberg’s Biography
Mark Elliot Zuckerberg was born on May 14, 1984, in White Plains, New York in the United States. He has three siblings – all younger sisters named Randi, Donna and Arielle.
He studied at the prestigious Phillips Exeter Academy in New Hampshire, before proceeding to Harvard University, where he started his pet project, which has now become Facebook and made him one of the richest men in the world.
1. Parental Influence
Mark’s parents are the ones who really made it possible for him to become who he is today, despite the fact that many call him a self-made billionaire. His father, Edward, encouraged him to become all that he can be. His mother, Karen, a psychiatrist, also had to give up her professional practice to take care of the family, immediately they started having children.
Mark’s parents provided a conducive atmosphere for him to thrive, by buying the best computers for young Mark to work with. When his parents discovered Mark’s keen aptitude for writing computer codes, they hired a programming expert, David Newman, as a tutor to teach their son more skills in computer coding.
When Mark designed his first computer messaging service which he called “Zucknet”, it was his father’s practice that adopted it as their official messaging tool in the office.
2. His Wife
While Mark was studying at Harvard University, he met young Priscilla Chan – who was also a student in the same institution – at a fraternity party. Mark and Priscilla started seeing each other sometime around 2003, and they dated for 9 more years before they eventually got married on May 19, 2012, in the backyard of Mark’s home in California. The wedding ceremony, for many of the guests invited, was assumed to be a celebration of Priscilla’s graduation from medical school, but Mark had a surprise for them all.
