Maria is a popular television host, actress, Journalist, and occasional professional wrestler. The Medford, Massachusetts native is best known for appearing as a TV correspondent for The Today Show, Extra, and Access Hollywood. Also, she joined in hosting the 51st edition of the Eurovision Song Contest 2006, which was held in Athens, Greece.

Born to Greek parents Costas and Litsa Menounos on June 28th, 1978, Maria grew up in Medford, Massachusetts. She has a brother named Peter Menounos.

Mostly described by her colleagues as a workaholic, she has always been a busy person. In her early years, she participated in various beauty pageants and was able to win the Miss Massachusetts Teen USA title in 1996, after which she participated in Miss Teen USA and was placed in the top fifteen. Maria Menounos started her career as a reporter for Channel One News while still in her senior year at Emerson College. There, she interviewed notable people like the former American President George W. Bush. However, in 2002, she was hired by Entertainment Tonight to report on music, movies, and fashion. After spending three years with the media outlet, she left and subsequently started working as an Access Hollywood correspondent. Between 2006 and 2007, Maria served as a co-host of NBC’s news and talking morning TV show, The Today Show.

Then in December 2008, she anchored Clash of the Choirs – a reality game show miniseries. In the next year, she served as a correspondent for NBC Nightly News and equally got associated with the Planet Green network, working as the host of Hollywood Green. She additionally hosted several reunion specials of The Challenge and The Real World on MTV between 2009 and 2012. Meanwhile, in 2011, she began co-hosting Extra with Mario Lopez, which eventually earned her a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Entertainment News Programs.

In 2014, Maria signed a multi-year contract with the cable and satellite TV channel E! They went through years of hardship together as Maria’s parents, who could not accept her relationship with a non-Greek, disowned her for that. As a result, she was rendered homeless at the time. She eventually moved in with Keven in an unfinished basement situated in Boston, where they stayed for a few years before relocating to Los Angeles.
