In a way, one could say that Liza Snyder was destined for a career in the entertainment industry, particularly in acting, having been born to a mother who is a singer/songwriter and a father who is a professor of theatre. The connections to the performing arts didn’t stop with her parents, she also has grandparents who were a film composer and an actress respectively.
She was born into this entertainment family on the 20th of March, 1968 in Northampton, Massachusetts. With a deep family background in theatre behind her, she started her training in the arts early, working her way through several acting coaches while she juggled her education.
Part of her acting training was done at the Neighbourhood Playhouse School of the Theatre which is based in New York. Following her graduation from the school, Liza Snyder began a journey as a professional actress in 1992, appearing in an episode of The Trials of Rosie O’Neill.
In the same year, she appeared as Claire in the TV show, Down the Shore, also in a solitary episode. She made a similar one-episode appearance in Murder, She Wrote before she got her first recurring role in Sirens, appearing as Officer Molly Whelan in 22 episodes of the show between 1994 and 1995.
At the completion of her time on Sirens, she appeared in her first feature-length project, a TV movie, Innocent Victims, where she played the character, Angela Hennis.
