Being a Meteorologist is hardly one of the most coveted jobs in the world and its position in journalism is barely one of the most envied positions in the industry. Nevertheless, the field can boast of some of the most beautiful and talented women in journalism, one of which is Liana Brackett. She has been serving Quibi as its weekend Weather Today Host but is mostly known for her time with Weather Channel.
Her career as a meteorologist has been an inspiration, particularly for those who desire a career in the field. The reason for this is not far-fetched; Lianna rose from the ground level of the career to become one of the faces of the nationally televised Weather Channel. Because of this, her career journey has remained a tale that piques the interest of many.
Liana’s Education Prepared Her for a Career in the Field
For all the beautiful and interesting facts available about Liana Brackett, she has managed to keep her personal life, especially in regards to her family away from the media. So far, we do not know much about her parents and sister. However, having grown up to become a remarkable woman, it is safe to assume that she grew up in a household that gave her an appropriate foundation and environment to thrive.
Liana Brackett was born on the 7th of July 1986 in Temecula, California before she and her parents relocated to Portland, Oregon, where she was raised to adulthood. She was born to parents who are believed to be of Mexican and American origin.
As details about her early life have been hard to come by, it is difficult to tell where she had her high-school education. But from what she studied in college, it is obvious that she has always wanted to build a career in the broadcast media.
For her tertiary education, Liana attended Arizona State University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Communication and Media Studies. When she was done with that, she headed over to the University of California where she added another qualification to her resume with a degree in Atmospheric Science and Meteorology.
She Spent Time Volunteering for Charities Before Her Career Took Off
From 2010 to 2011, Liana Bracket served Store To Door for Seniors as a volunteer. Her duty here had nothing to do with meteorology as it revolved around shopping for the elderly and members of the disabled community at local grocery stores.
Also as a volunteer, the meteorologist worked with Adorned In Grace, a charity organization that promotes awareness on sex trafficking while striving to prevent it using proceeds realized from sales of its wedding gowns, veils, petticoats, accessories, and what have you. From October 2013 to November 2015, Liana worked with the establishment and her duty revolved around selling wedding gowns donated to the organization.
That’s not all, she has been a volunteer with Big Sister of Big Brothers Big Sisters Columbia Northwest (BBBSCN) since 2010. Also a charitable organization, BBBSCN creates and supports one-to-one mentoring relationships to help youth attain their full potential.

Armed with a degree in Atmospheric Science, she set out to begin a career as a meteorologist and she began at the National Weather Service in Portland, Oregon, where she worked for the first six years of her professional life. After six years at the National Weather Service, she headed over to FOX 12 Oregon, where she began to work as an onscreen journalist, serving primarily as the weather reporter. Liana spent a year at FOX 12 before she got a role at The Weather Channel in Atlanta, working as an on-screen meteorologist.

Today would have been his 9th birthday 💕 Last Friday, our sweet little Dolce passed away in his sleep. His little body was getting weaker and weaker from cancer, so I am glad he is no longer in pain, but I really do miss him. I’m grateful I got a chance to be his fur-mama. pic.twitter.com/GYkBwojCEo
