Thanks to her long years of active involvement in film making, Lauren has earned for herself a good standing in the entertainment industry. Making her film debut with a small appearance in the romantic comedy film, Down to You, Lauren German undoubtedly went on to make her mark in the industry with several other roles in films like A Walk to Remember, A Midsummer Night’s Rave, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Hostel: Part II. Lauren German’s Early Life
Lauren Christine German was born on November 29, 1978, in Huntington Beach, California to her father who is a vascular surgeon and her mother who allegedly left while she was still a child. The actress had her education at Los Alamitos High School but perhaps, after discovering her acting and dance talent, she transferred to Orange County High School of the Arts. Surprisingly, she did not study acting as a student of the University of Southern California, instead, she studied anthropology. However, she perfected her acting skills when she attended the Actor’s Studio after she graduated from university.
After schooling, Lauren German took up acting as a career with Peter Pan and Oliver being her first two works on stage. Then in 2000, she took a minor role in the film, Down to You and in the TV drama series Undressed. She received more roles in television shows than in films the following year.
Later, Lauren German landed the role of Beth in the TV movie, Shotgun Love Dolls, and as Marie in the drama series, 7th Heaven. Her first lead role in TV series was in Sex, Love and Secrets, a 2005 American soap opera, where she appeared as Rose; sadly, the series was later canceled after its first season, due to low viewership.
Lauren German’s popularity grew further when she received a lead role in the horror film titled Hostel: Part II. She received the role following a brilliant performance in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre which was mixed with her high sense of humor and ability to handle horrific, intense moments in the 2003 horror film. She is also known for her role in the police procedural comedy-drama, Lucifer where she plays one of the show’s main character, Detective Chloe Decker. The TV series premiered on Fox on the 25th of January 25, 2016.
