After she graduated from high school, Kerri Browitt Caviezel proceeded to attend Western Washington University. Standing at 5 feet 9 inches in height, Kerri joined the university’s Women’s Basketball team called the WWU Vikings and did great exploits with them. She actually did set records as a basketball player in college. In fact, she and just one other Viking were the only ones to complete a career ranking among WWU top 10 leaders in points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocked shots. She became famous on campus and co-captained the 1988-89 WWU Vikings squad that dazzled fans and finished 30-5, becoming the first and only 30-win women’s hoop squad in the history of the school.
Kerri was so influential in the team that she powered them to win District 1 and B-District I playoff titles. She also reached the quarterfinals of NAIA National Tournament that same year. It is noteworthy that throughout her college basketball career, Kerri Browitt started all but four games and never missed a contest. Her skills were very exceptional and she stood out in the team so much that she got named to the school’s President’s List nine times and also became an NAIA National Scholar-Athlete. For her immense contribution to the university’s basketball team, she was inducted into WWU’s Athletics Hall of Fame in February 2015.

For some reason best known to her, Kerri Browitt Caviezel did not pursue her basketball career after her college education even though she did quite well during her university days. Interestingly her husband, Jim also played basketball at the University of Washington where he had his college career. However, his dream of becoming a professional basketball player was cut short due to an injury he sustained.
Kerri Browitt Caviezel now lives a quiet life as a high school teacher and is respected for her simplicity. She is also a flutist and is dedicated to keeping her home.

Kerri Browitt Caviezel and Jim Caviezel are a happily married couple at the moment. But how did they meet? According to reports, the couple first met while on a blind date. Interestingly, the blind date was actually arranged by Jim’s sister called Amy. When Kerri and Jim first met on the blind date, they picked interest in each other immediately. Kerri and Jim eventually tied the knot as husband and wife on the 20th of July 1996. Being devout Catholics, their wedding was held at the Immaculate Conception Church in Roslynn, Washington and was witnessed by family and close friends. They have lived together ever since.

Her Children and Family Life
Kerri Browitt Caviezel and Jim Caviezel do not have any biological children but they do have three adopted children. The adopted children are Bo who was born in 1999, Lyn Elizabeth who was born in 2001 and David who was born in 2010.
It is noteworthy that all the children adopted by the Caviezel’s are from China and all of them have been diagnosed with cancer. The interesting thing is that they were offered healthy children to adopt but they opted to adopt the sick kids instead. When they were asked why they made this choice, they explained that it is easier for the other healthy children to be adopted but it would be very hard for the sick kids to find a good home so they took it upon themselves to give the children a chance at life.
Today, all the adopted children are doing well and are receiving treatment. The family is a happy one, Kerri and Jim are full of praise and love for each other.
