Who Is Kenny Stills of NFL?
Kenneth Lee Stills Jr, better-known as Kenny Stills, is the son of a former NFL player, Ken Stills, and his wife Annette Delao. He was born on April 22, 1992, in the beautiful city of Eden Prairie, Minnesota. However, he grew up in Southern California. Kenny attended La Costa Canyon in Carlsbad, where he began to display his vast talent for sports.
He Was a Three-sport Star
While studying, Kenny was engaged in track and field, football, and basketball. In track and field where he competed as a sprinter, he participated in the 2009 Avocado League Finals and earned for himself third-place finishes in both the 100-meter and 200-meter dash. In football, Kenny was able to set multiple records in San Diego with his 33 touchdowns and over 3,000 receiving yards. He was even named CIF first-team at wide receiver in his senior year in 2009.
He Made An Impact In His College Career
At the University of Oklahoma, Kenny Stills was part of the Oklahoma Sooners football team between 2010 and 2012 and he didn’t take much time to make an impact. Not only did he set records for receptions and receiving yards, posting 61 catches for 786 yards and 5 touchdowns as a true freshman in 2010, but he also finished his three years career with a total of 204 catches for over 2500 yards, and 24 touchdowns. He left his fourth year in college to pursue his professional career in the National Football League (NFL).
Kenny Stills’ Early NFL Career
Going professional in 2013, Kenny Stills was selected by the New Orleans Saints in the 5th round of the NFL draft, with the 144th overall pick. As a rookie, he was able to contribute to his new team’s offense. In his debut season, he made over 500 receiving yards and caught 5 touchdowns. He was going into the third year of his rookie deal when he learned about plans by the Saints to trade him for the Dolphin’s linebacker Danell Ellerbe along with a 2015 third Round pick. Before leaving the Saints, Stills recorded 8 touchdowns and 95 receptions for 1,572 yards. He also averaged 20 yards-per-catch in 2014.
Moving to the Miami Dolphins on March 13, 2015, the California star was willing and able to teach the young Miami players all he had learned about preparation and professionalism. Kenny Stills made the best of his career in 2016, after recording a team-leading 9 touchdowns and averaging over 17 yards per reception. More so, in a game against the New York Jets, he made one of his best catches after the ball bounced between him and a defender and then returned to him for the catch leading to the Dolphins’ 31–28 win against the Jets. He also finished the game with 2 touchdowns and 85 receiving yards.

Having been with just two professional teams since his drafting in 2013, Kenny has been able to achieve so much for himself as a professional player. His NFL career stats show he has 254 total receptions for 4,089 yards and 32 touchdowns. His average receiving yard per reception is 16.1.
His Salary and Net Worth
Kenny’s four-year contract extension with the Dolphins gave his earnings a potential boost. The deal which was signed on March 8, 2017, is worth $32 million, handing the professional player about $8,000,000 as annual salary with $19,950,000 guaranteed and $7,000,000 signing bonus.
