Although they have a globally recognized ambassador in the person of Arnold Schwarzenegger, it is not a particularly popular profession. One of its lesser-known personalities is Kai Greene, who has been in the profession since 2005.
Professional bodybuilding has its own global regulating body, the IFBB, along with its competitions, and Kai Greene has made the remarkable achievement of finishing second thrice in one of his top competitions, Mr. Olympia.

Early Life and Career Beginnings
Some call him ‘The Predator’ while others call him ‘Mr. Getting It Done’, whatever you call him, Kai Greene has become one of the top stars of bodybuilding, celebrated by fans of the sport.
Sadly, it hasn’t always been such a happy story for Kai Greene, who was born on the 12th of July, 1975 as Leslie Kai Greene in Brooklyn, New York. He lost his parents at the age of six and was put in the foster care system, where he bounced from home to home.
While attending high school, specifically in the seventh grade, he was encouraged by his English teacher to consider bodybuilding competitions, taking advantage of the rapid physical growth Kai Greene had experienced at the time, in order to curb is troubling behaviour.
The idea turned out to be a stroke of genius as it not alone curbed his excessiveness but gave him a profession that would make him into a star.
He competed in the National Physique Committee, winning a couple of competitions at a teenage level such as the 1999 NPC Team Universe and the 2004 NPC Team Universe, which eventually led him to a professional career with the International Federation of BodyBuilding and Fitness (IFBB).
He made his debut as a pro-builder in the IFBB New York Pro in 2005 and has competed in various competitions ever since, including the Arnold Classic, which he won in 2009, 2010 and 2016.
In the IFBB topmost competition, Mr. Olympia, Kai Greene is yet to record a victory but has finished in impressive positions – third in 2011, and second in 2013 and 2014.
Outside of competitions against his fellow bodybuilders, Kai Greene has been involved in a couple of documentaries, such as Overkill in 2009, Redemption in 2010 and Generation Iron in 2013 and its sequel, Generation Iron 2.
Kai Greene is also a known artist who draws and creates self-portraits of himself. He is known to have hosted an exhibition of some of his artworks. Other ventures include a podcast, Generation Iron which he hosts weekly alongside the fitness model, Krystal Lavenne.
As an actor, Kai Greene has starred in College Debts, Stranger Things and Crazy Fist.
As mentioned earlier, the world of bodybuilding is not particularly the most popular sport and thus, does not boast of the level of revenue and income like other sports.
But along with his high placements in various competitions, several wins, and appearances in movies and TV shows like Stranger Things, Kai Greene has been able to accrue an estimated net worth of $1.6 million.
He has also earned considerable sum from his work as a personal trainer and the sale of his supplement brand, Dynamilk Muscle.
Kai Greene, being a star of the bodybuilding world, has been the subject of romantic interest from a number of women but while the identity of his flings and casual relationships remain unknown, it is his relationship with Dayana Cadeau, a fellow bodybuilder that has stood out.
The couple met each other for the first time during a contest in 1998 at the Tana Classic and despite a mutual admiration for each other, nothing happened between the two of them until 2007 when a competition brought them together.
The couple has been dating ever since October 2007, although they are yet to walk down the aisle in the legal culmination of their relationship.
Kai Greene’s Height And Weight
In the world of bodybuilding, physical profiles are the currency in trade and Kai Greene has been able to achieve all he has in the profession due to his exceptional body profile.
He has a height of 5 feet 8 inches but has a fluctuating weight that averages between 113 and 129kg during competition season and 131 to 140 kg during off-seasons.
His remarkable body mass and the strength that has come with it, has earned him a number of endorsement deals, including one with Ryderwear, which has clothing and footwear line in his name.
