He was born on the 2nd of March, 1987 to parents Chris Jerebko and Elaine Jerebko. His father, like him, was a basketball player who played in the forward position for Syracuse University and professionally for Boras Basket. His mother was also a basketball player.

As a child growing up under his parents, Jonas Jerebko partook in several sports as a child in Sweden. As he aged, like almost a genetic predestination, he found his best talents laid in basketball and began the pursuit of this at the University of Buffalo where he signed to play in 2005.

While his counterparts in America would usually spend at least a year in college, plying their trade as college players, Jonas Jerebko decided to forgo his college career and became a professional player for Boras Basket, the same team his father played for, albeit Jonas played for the second tiered team in his first season as a professional career.

After a season playing in the second division, he found a team that trusted him enough to deliver at the first division and so, he joined Plannja Basket in the 2006/2007 season. He repaid that faith and delivered an average of 20 points per game in his season at the team. Before joining the Detroit Pistons, he spent two seasons at Angelico Biella.

When his time at an American franchise came around, Jonas Jerebko took the chance with both hands. Although he started his career in the NBA amidst controversy with multiple disciplinary issues, his work on the court endeared him to fans and he managed to play 8 games in his first season as a rookie, starting an incredible 73 games and recorded an average 9.3 points per game with 6.0 rebounds.

Jonas Jerebko went on to spend a total of five seasons with Detroit Pistons before he was traded to Boston Celtics where he spent three seasons. He was then moved to Utah where he spent the season and played over 70 games for the Jazz. He was traded to the Golden State Warriors in 2018.

In his national career, he has played for the Swedish first national team since he was 18 years old, representing them at competitions like the 2013 Eurobasket.

As a man not shy to invest his money in worthy endeavours, Jonas Jerebko is the owner of an Esports organization, Renegades.

Net Worth and Salary

Well, he may have begun playing basketball as a professional in 2005 but Jonas Jerebko did not begin to earn the big bucks in US dollars until 2009 when he joined the Pistons. His starting contract was a two-year $1.22 million deal with the Pistons, which began the process of helping him build a strong net worth of $13 million. As for his salary, over the course of his career, he has signed mega-contracts with teams like Utah and the Golden State Warriors.

He is currently on a one year $2.18 million salary contract with the Warriors.

Wife And Family Life

For basketball players, keeping fit is a year-round affair that can be challenging to the marital life of players but so far, Jonas Jerebko has been able to maintain a happy home with his wife, Johanna Lundback who, like Jonas, is Swedish. The couple has been together for a while and has been able to raise two children, Izabel and another daughter whose identity is currently unknown. Their first daughter, Izabel was welcomed into the world in April 2016. They gave birth to their second daughter in January 2019.

A quick look at his wife’s background shows she was born in Kalix, Sweden on the 7th of December 1991. She also attended Stockholm University with a resume that shows she came fourth in the 2009 Miss Universe Sweden competition.
