Jana Carter is an American political activist, entrepreneur, attorney, and author, who is most notable for her marriage to Van Jones, a famous television personality, non-practising attorney, political commentator and also an author. A regular contributor on CNN, Jones is currently the host of the TV show “The Van Jones Show”.
The couple got married in 2005 but sadly, after 13 years of being together, their union ended in divorce in July 2019.

Jana was born in the United States of America as Jana Michelle Carter but the actual date and place where she was born are not known. Jana Carter is the daughter of William Alton ‘Billy’ Carter III and Sybil Spires. Her father, who died in 1988 of pancreatic cancer, was a politician, businessman, and farmer. He was also said to be the younger brother of the 39th president of the United States, James Earl ‘Jimmy’ Carter, and Jana his niece. This relationship has, however, never been confirmed by either Jana or any member of their family. The entrepreneur was raised by her parents alongside her five siblings named Kim, William “Buddy” Carter IV, Marle, Mandy, and Earl.
Miss Carter is a mother of two children, both sons named Cabral Jones Carter (born in 2005) and Mattai Jones Carter (born in 2009). Later on, Jana filed for the annulment of her marriage to the “Van Jones Show” host on September 7th of the same year, seeking spousal support and joint legal and physical custody of their two sons. Until their union fell apart, the couple kept their relationship away from the public with a lot of people not even knowing that Van Jones was married. We do not know what the main cause of their divorce or why they decided to call it quits, all we know is that the couple tied the knot in 2005 and separated in May 2018.
