Jade Eshete’s performance art life began when she was in college. She volunteered at the National Dance Institute, helping inner-city youth learn to dance. But it was after graduation that things went into a higher gear for the Brooklyn-born actress. She made her first on-screen appearance in the short film, Brooklove, playing the character, Mia. In the same year, she made her first significant debut in an episode of the TV Show, High Maintenance, as Jaden.

In the following year, she got a chance to make more extended appearances in the show, Shades of Blue. She played a receptionist across three episodes. Jade also appeared as an unnamed drunk girl in the show, Deadbeat. Her performance in the show led to more appearances for Jade in other projects, playing more pivotal roles such as in Bruce!!!!, It’s Bruno and in Showtime hit show, Billions, where she plays the character, Lauren Turner.

Other credits to her name include Ramy, Materna, and Really Love. The Materna movie, released in 2020, is an indie movie written and produced by Jade. The film had three nominations at the Tribeca Film Festival, winning two of them.

In the BBC America sci-fi series, Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency; Jade Eshete played Farah Black. Starring in all but one episode of the show, she played a competent and strong security officer who suffered from OCD. She starred alongside Samuel Barnett and Elijah Wood, as the work together to solve a case involving her millionaire boss.

Critically, the show was well-received, and her performance helped tell a story beloved by fans. So beloved that when BBC America canceled the show, it sparked fan outrage, enough to sign a petition with more than 100,000 signatures.
