WPXT-TV, Portland, Maine – Weekend Forecaster And Entertainment Reporter (1998-2001)

In spite of the fact that she enjoyed such a great time and a high level of acceptance at WZON, Monahan did not bask so much in the euphoria. Instead, rather than remain at the radio station for too long, she soon transitioned to TV. She moved south to Portland, Maine to work as a weekend forecaster and entertainment reporter for WPXT-TV.

New England Cable News, Needham, Massachusetts – Weekend Meteorologist (2001-2002)

After a brief stay down south with WPXT-TV, J. C. Monahan moved up north once more to start a new job with the New England Cable News (NECN), an NBC Universal-owned cablenews TV network based in Needham, Massachusetts. There, she worked as the weekend meteorologist.

WCVB, Boston, Massachusetts – Anchor (2002-2017)

Between 2002 and 2017, J.C. Monahan had her longest stay with a channel so far working with WCVB, an ABC-affiliated television station located in Boston. At WCVB, she started off as a morning meteorologist. She would later go on to become a co-host of Chronicle, an evening newsmagazine show at the station from 2013.

As a co-host of Chronicle, she also appeared on WMUR-TV talking on a variety of topics that border on lifestyle, culture, and issues in current news alongside Anthony Everett. She also co-anchored a number of other programs at the station during this time – including NewsCenter 5 Midday where she replaced Cindy Fitzgibbon.

In June 2017, J.C. Monahan left WCVB at the expiration of her contract with them and moved to WBTS, a low-powered NBC owned-and-operated television station licensed to Boston. The media personality is married to a man identified as Jim Farrell. Jim is a director at WGBH 89.7, a radio station in Boston. We have not been able to ascertain the exact time in which the couple got married but we know that they have two daughters together. Their first girl identified as Catherine, was born on the 18th of October, 2006, and their second child, Victoria Rose was born on the 28th of March 2012.
