Hulk Hogan Net Worth: Career Beginnings

Hogan was born Terry Gene Bollea on August 11, 1953 in Augusta, Georgia but grew up in Port Tampa, Florida. In his early years, Bollea played baseball as a pitcher. He attracted interest from MLB teams but an injury ended his baseball career. He then ventured into music and began playing the bass guitar for several rock bans in Florida. Bollea dropped out of college and formed a band named Ruckus in 1976 which enjoyed success around the Tampa Bay region. During performances at a bar where wrestlers visited often, one of them impressed by Bolloea’s muscular build introduced him to wrestling. Bollea made his debut on August 10, 1977, in Championship Wrestling from Florida (CWF).
