Armi Kuusela contested in the Miss Universe pageant as a 17-year girl from Finland and became the first Miss Universe queen in the world… that’s some unbeatable record! The U.S resident beauty queen was not only the first to win the Miss Universe title at a glittering debut ceremony but was also the first Miss Universe ever representing Finland. Many may think she would have been a cover girl for thousands of magazines but she chose a quiet life afterward. She is married and active in charities and in cancer research.
Gladys is a Peruvian model and beauty queen. She became the first Latin American woman to win the Miss Universe title after being crowned Miss Peru Universe in 1957. One interesting thing about her is that she had not met the contest’s minimum age requirement when she won the competition at the age of 17 years and some months. The stunning beauty (who is in her eighties now) has black hair, brown eyes, and a height of 1.70 m (5 ft 7 inches). She is married to Peruvian politician, Antonio Meier.

Mona Grudt is a Norwegian who became the judges’ favorite in Miss Universe 1990, becoming the first and the only Norwegian to capture the Miss Universe title. She was listed in the competition as a “beauty queen from hell” (either because she was born in Hell, Norway or because hell’ means ‘luck’ in Norwegian). Since being crowned the Miss Universe, she has gone on to become a TV host, dancer, and editor.
Grudt has been through two failed marriages; first to Lasse Berre – from 1995 to 1999 – and then to Brody Bittrick – from 2005 to 2012. She has a height of 5 feet 10 inches.

After she graduated from college in March 2017, she won Miss South Africa 2017 and just a few days later precisely on March 26, 2017. Later on November 27, 2017, she won the Miss Universe pageantry.
Catriona Elisa Magnayon Gray is a Filipino-Australian model, singer who is the 4th Philipina to have won the Miss Universe title. She was born to Ian Gray, an Australian with Scottish roots, and Normita Ragas Magnayon a Philipina from Oas, Albay. While she was in high school, she learned Choi Kwang-Do martial arts and earned a black belt thereof. Following her graduation, Catriona relocated to Manilla, Philipines where she started working as a model. She won Miss World Philippines 2016 on Oct 2nd and later Binibining Pilipinas / Miss Universe 2018 on 18 March 2018.
South African born Zozibini Tunzi made history and brought honor to the African continent when she was crowned Miss Universe Winner in 2019. She’s the 6th African, second black African (after Angolan Leila Lopes in 2011), and 3rd South African to win the competition. Tunzi not only won the crown, but she did so in style with her afro-textured hair and broke an agelong tradition of many African ladies who have participated in the tourney wearing weavons.
