Hannah is a Burlingame, California native born on November 2, 1986, and raised by her mother who suffers from psychosis. Her name in full is Hannah Maud Hart and her ethnicity is white.

Hannah Hart went to Burlingame High School after which she moved to the University of California, Berkeley where she graduated from in 2009 with two degrees – one in English Literature and the other in the Japanese Language. After graduation, Hart moved to New York, Brooklyn precisely where she believed she would fulfill her dreams of writing screenplays. Unfortunately for the young graduate, her first job was as an English and Japanese proofreader for a translating firm based in Manhattan.

While working with the translating firm, Hannah Hart launched her YouTube channel (MyHarto). Within two months of launching MyHarto, she became a YouTube partner and to focus on her newly found career, she left her 9–5 job. Her name began to ring bells in March 2011 when she began to make her cooking videos under the name My Drunk Kitchen. In one of her videos, Hart tried to prepare grilled cheese sandwich that has no cheese when she was drunk.

Her first video was able to hit 100k views with her viewers eagerly looking forward to the next episode. By July 2011, My Drunk Kitchen was already hitting 800k subscribers. The channel grew further as she began to host notable guest with culinary skills like Jamie Oliver; actors and actresses like Mary-Louise Parker and Chris Hardwick; and vloggers like Tyler Oakley. She also hosted well-known comedians like Sarah Silverman who in one of the episodes, discussed the medicinal and therapeutic use of cannabis. MyHarto recorded over 2.3 million subscribers in 2015.

Following the success of her channel, Hannah Hart launched a new channel which she dedicated to tackling random life-related issues. Her book, “My Drunk Kitchen: A Guide to Eating, Drinking, and Going with Your Gut,” reached the 6th position in the “Advice, How-To & Miscellaneous” category on the New York Times bestsellers list after it was published in August 2014.

As an actress, the multi-hyphenate appeared in a short comedy film titled Dirty 30 with multitalented personalities like Mamrie Hart and Grace Helbig. The film which was about a house party gone wrong was released on September 23, 2016, and like her other productions, it was a hit. Hart also lent her voice in an episode of the animated web series Bee and PuppyCat.

Hannah Hart was raised by her parents Annette Louise and Noah Hart and she has two siblings – the older one named Naomi and the younger half-sister named Maggie. Hart’s parents separated when she was still young, hence she spent most of her early years with her mother who now suffers from psychosis. She shares a strong bond with her older sister who became like her mother since when they discovered their mother’s mental health issues. However, it is not yet known what her sister does for a living.

Hannah Hart is openly a lesbian. She and her girlfriend, Ella Mielniczenko have been best of friends for a very long time. Ella is an executive producer at BuzzFeed. Also a Califonia native, Ella is a Visual Media Arts degree holder from Emerson College. She began to date Hannah in 2016. The two were first introduced to each other through a mutual friend and by July 2018, Hannah proposed to Ella who said Yes. The marriage proposal was held at a Hawaiian beach. The couple looks forward to exchanging their wedding rings in California in 2020.

Before Ella Mielniczenko, there was  Ingrid Nilsen, a fellow YouTuber whom Hart dated from 2015 to January 2016.
