Emily Luther’s Biography

On the 24th of July, 1992, in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, Emily Luther was born to her parents. Not much is known of her childhood background but according to reports about her, she fell in love with music as a child and maintained her love for the art well into adulthood.

The strength of her passion for music extended into her academic history as she enrolled at the Berklee College of Music where she studied Vocal Performance & Music Therapy. During her time at Berklee, Emily Luther unrelenting passion for music led her to compose and sing a cover for Adele’s ‘Someone Like You’ which she sang with another Berklee student, Charlie Puth. The cover song, which was uploaded to YouTube, soon went viral.

As a result of the popularity of the video and the impressive nature of her vocal talent, she was invited, along with Charlie to the famous Ellen DeGeneres talk show where both of them performed a song to a mesmerized audience.

Known for her propensity for surprising her guests, Ellen signed Emily Luther to her record label, eleveneleven on the show and she subsequently signed a publishing deal with the giant music company, Universal Music Publishing Group.

Since she got the exposure via the viral song, Emily Luther has built on the effort by deploying her powerful vocal abilities to working with other musicians like Yolanda Adams and Dionne Warwick. She has also secured other gigs like singing for the Grammy Foundation.

During an exploration phase, Emily Luther sought to break into the world Contemporary Pop and Jazz and signed up for an audition for the music reality show, The Voice.

During the show, Emily Luther further gained more fans and popularity through renditions of a number of songs, including Summertime, which got her under the wings of Maroon 5 lead singer, who is also a judge on the show, Adam Levine. Her time on the show in 2017, unfortunately, did not lead to a win but she left the show with a higher profile.

Emily Luther’s Family

Despite what has been a substantial time in the spotlight, there has been little information about the personal life of Emily Luther. There is no known information about the existence of any personal relationship, in the way of a boyfriend or girlfriend.

As for her family, the story also remains the same, with the only known fact being the existence of at least a sibling, an older brother who has so far, supported her in her journey as a musician.

The support of her family was exemplified with the appearance of her mother and her brother at the backstage of The Voice during her audition.
