Elise Neal was born on the 4th day of March in the year 1966. The actress was born in Memphis, a city in the US state of Tennessee. It was in Memphis that she grew up with her family. It is noteworthy that even though she is now simply called Elise Neal by fans around the world, her full birth name is actually Elise Demetria Neal.
The actress was born to a mother called Arletha Neal. Her father’s name is still vague at the moment. Elise is very fond of her mother and has often talked about how she worked so hard to help her achieve her dreams of becoming an actress by driving her to many talent shows.
It is not known if Elise is an only child or if she has siblings with whom she grew up. It is, however, presumed that she had a great childhood. Her father worked as a construction worker and her mother worked as a nurse to support the family.
Growing up, Elise attended the Lakeview Elementary in her hometown. When she finished, she went on to attend the Overton High School for the Creative and Performing Arts from where she graduated in 1984. That same year, she proceeded to attend the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. According to sources, Elise attended college for only two years and then left to go to New York in order to pursue a career in entertainment. She has since gone on to make a great career in the movie industry.

Elise Neal was born to entertain people. This was all she ever knew how to do. Right from when she just six years old, she asked her mother to enroll her in a dance class. Her interest in dancing did not fade away when she began High School. In fact, she ended up becoming a cheerleader in school. She was also a ballet dancer.
When Elise moved to New York, she began to land some roles in musical theater, gaining lots of experience on stage. In fact, she found herself traveling the world with different touring companies, acting and learning new skills along the way. Elise kick-started her acting career when she moved from New York to Los Angeles. She made her debut on TV when she landed the role of Janice Sinclair on the soap opera called Loving. In 1993, she scored the role of Debbie in Getting By. The next year, in 1994, Elise landed a role in an episode of the very popular The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air series and also appeared as a dancer in Red Shoe Diaries, another TV series.
1995 saw Elise scoring roles in Chicago Hope, a TV Series, Let It Be Me, a drama/romance film and Pointman, another TV series. She was also cast as Lt. J.J. Fredricks in SeaQuest 2032, a show which got her lots of accolades over her stunning performance. The next year in 1996, Elise scored roles in the comedy/adventure series ABC Afterschool Specials, as well as in Living Single.
Elise Neal got her big break in 1997 after she scored roles in three big movies that year. She first appeared as Beulah (Scrappie) in Rosewood, a historical fiction drama film, putting up a stunning performance. She then got cast as Paula in Money Talks, a popular action comedy film before making appearances in Scream 2, an American slasher film. These three movies combined to make Elise very popular in 1997. Her fan-base grew considerably.
Elise tapped in on her growing relevance by appearing in more top-notch movies that got her name on the map. From 1998 to 2002, the actress appeared as Yvonne Hughley in The Hughleys, a popular sitcom. Her work in The Hughleys earned her two NAACP nominations for Best Actress in a Comedy.
