Who Was Dominick Brascia and How Did He Die?

Sexual assault cases have been known to ruin the careers and reputations of whoever gets embroiled in one. Actor and director Dominick Brascia almost suffered this fate as his character was heavily questioned after he was embroiled in such a case that involved child actor Corey Haim and Charlie Sheen.

Other than this particular event that made headlines around the world, Brascia was specifically known for his work in a number of horror films. The man was also famous for hosting and producing various shows on radio until he suddenly passed away.

How Dominick Brascia’s Launched His Hollywood Career

On the 29th of May, 1956, Ann and Dom Brascia welcomed their son Dominick to the world. He was born in Coney Island, New York where he attended New Dorp High School. He would later go on to enroll at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas where he studied broadcasting and theater.

By the early 1980s, Dominick Brascia started to appear in movies. His first film role was in the 1984 horror film, They’re Playing with Fire, where he played the minor role of Glenn. His next role was in the film, Friday the 13th: A New Beginning which proved to be a much more successful film than the one he previously starred in. Even though Dominick was relatively young, his performance in the horror film opened more doors and made it possible for him to grow as an actor and director.

Other horror films that he went on to have a role in are 1986’s Evil Laugh, 1988’s Hard Rock Nightmare, and Rush Week in 1989. He directed the first two projects.

Details of His Work in Non-Horror Films and on Radio

While Dominick Brascia may be better known for his work in horror films, he was not limited to the film genre as he also had roles on different television shows appeared in film in other genres. His first notable non-horror related work was in 1982’s Knight Rider where he had the opportunity to play a minor character.

Other television shows he was a part of include Night Court and Otherworld. His acting career subsequently slowed down after the 80s as he was able to bag fewer roles in the years that followed. Never the less, he still appeared in projects like Busted, My Life as a Troll, Breaking the Circle, and Doin’ Time on Planet Earth; some of which he either directed and/or produced.

Outside of his endeavors in the cinematic world, Brascia also produced radio shows and worked as a radio host. His career as a radio personality saw him work in cities like Beaumont, Birmingham, and Denver. When he was in Denver, Colorado, he was particularly known for hosting a weekday morning show called Dominick and Bill Live.

Dominick Brascia further served as one of the producers of the Armstrong and Getty Show which aired on 650 KSTE in Sacramento, California. Prior to his death, the TV and Radio star was the host of a show on KMMS out of Bozeman, Montana, where he is known for airing alongside the likes of Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, and Rush Limbaugh.

Dominick Brascia’s Involvement in the Sex Scandal

For most of his career as an actor, director, and radio host, Dominick Brascia lived under the radar and was a fan favorite to a certain niche of moviegoers and radio listeners. Things went quite smoothly for him until 2013 when he was in the news for the wrong reasons.

As it happened, actor Corey Feldman had released his memoir titled Coreygraphy where he alleged that a big wig in the film industry had assaulted both him and his late friend, actor Corey Haim, when they were teenagers in the 1980s. Following the release of the publication, Brascia who was Feldman’s roommate at the time was considered to be the person who had assaulted the young boys but Brascia was quick to deny ever having had any sexual relations with them. He then went on to state that the actor that actually had sex with the teenage boys was Charlie Sheen.

Brascia further said that Haim had told him that Sheen solicited for sex from him when they were shooting Lucas in 1986. Feldman supported this claim as he later specified that Dominick was not the man who sexually assaulted them; but that it was Sheen. This, however, did not stop further investigation to be held into the matter as a report by “The Desk By Matthew Keys” in January 2019 says Brascia was still being investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department although the reason behind the investigation was not explicitly stated.

Nothing has since been heard from Sheen in regard to the allegations as Corey Haim had died three years before the story came to light.

What Is His Net Worth?

Dominick Brascia’s career in the entertainment industry was not one that lasted a very long time. He only managed to appear in a handful of movies and television shows while he served as producer and director of a few others. By the time of his death, he was working as a radio host and his net worth was estimated at the time to be around $300,000. This was as a result of his earnings over the years in the entertainment industry.
