David Haffenreffer was born on the 2nd day of August in 1967. The real estate broker was born in the state of Rhode Island, the U.S.A. where he was also raised by his parents. Even though he is now more simply known as David Haffenreffer, his full name is actually David Huffard Haffenreffer Jr.
Haffenreffer was born into a comfortable home. His father identified as David Haffenreffer Sr. worked as the vice president with Providence for Fleet Investment Advisors, a unit of FleetBoston Financial, an American bank. His mother, Susan Haffenreffer, on the other hand, is reported to have worked as a clinical social worker at the Bristol County Community Health Center. With parents who are comfortable earners, it is apparent that David had a great time growing up.
Not much is known about David Haffenreffer’s early days or what he did while growing up in Rhode Island. We, however, know that he grew up with two sisters identified as Ashley Haffenreffer Wagstaff and Kristen Haffenreffer Moran. The siblings are fond of each other.

Their marriage was a highly publicized affair; it was even published in Martha Stewart Living Magazine and was also featured on the Martha Stewart Living TV show. The marriage between David Haffenreffer and Lara Spencer produced two amazing kids; a son called Duff Haffenreffer and a daughter called Katharine Paige Haffenreffer.
The couple remained married for about 15 years before their marriage hit the rocks and they announced their separation in 2015. Their divorce was eventually finalized on June 18 that same year. David has remained single since the divorce but Lara has remarried. She married Richard McVey, an American entrepreneur in 2018.
His career as a journalist
After working as a video field producer for GTE Corporation, a subsidiary of Verizon Communications, David Haffenreffer kick-started his career as a journalist by joining WSUB-AM, a radio station where he worked as a director and news anchor. He worked there for some time, gaining a lot of experience and honing his skills as an anchor.
In 1992, when he left WSUB-AM, David Haffenreffer joined Bloomberg TV where he also anchored programs for the business-oriented pay television network. David worked with Bloomberg TV from 1992 till 1998 before departing to seek challenges elsewhere. That same year, he joined Reuters, a news organization company where he worked as the host for Money Talks, a personal finance show. At this time, he also provided some financial updates for WABC-TV.
In 2002, he left Reuters and joined CNN where he began to anchor Ahead of the Curve, a popular morning television program on the TV channel. He worked with CNN from 2002 till 2006 before parting ways the media company.

His real estate brokerage career
After leaving CNN, David Haffenreffer changed career paths and became a real estate broker. According to reports, the former TV anchor, and host now works as a full-time realtor in Greenwich, Connecticut. He describes himself as someone who is very passionate about infusing state-of-the-art technology into the business of real estate brokership so as to help buyers and sellers get their deals closed as soon as possible.
At the moment, David Haffenreffer serves as the Brokerage Manager for Houlihan Lawrence Agency in Greenwich, a town in Connecticut. He had previously worked with Prudential Connecticut Realty and Sotheby’s International Realty.
