That’s a proper life imitating art case: In his song with Future – released in 2015 song “Where Ya At,” Drake raps, “I’ll buy the neighbors house if they complain about the noise.” He couldn’t have made the lyric more real!

The 70-year-old actor is another celebrity who faced a lawsuit for being a bad neighbor. Los Angeles Dodgers announcer Vin Scully in 1993 charged him to court because stormwater runoff from his yard damaged Vin’s home. Sly was made to pay $69,000 to Vin’s property in Los Angeles’ Pacific Palisades neighborhood for repairs.

Film and TV personality, Natasha and her Manhattan neighbor never really got along in 2004. The neighbor of the movie icon charged her with criminal mischief, harassment, and trespassing. Authorities told People magazine that the actress raided her neighbor’s apartment and tore down a mirror from the wall. As if that wasn’t bad enough, Natasha allegedly told the neighbor, “I’m going to sexually molest your dog.” Gross!

Gigi Hadid

Gigi Hadid is a fine-faced fashion queen who actually called herself “the worst neighbor” in an interview in Harper’s Bazaar. The stunning model said she disturbs her New York City neighbors with some show tunes! According to what she told the mag’s October 2016 issue, she prefers “to sing Broadway show tunes at home, which makes me the worst neighbor, but [it’s] a good stress reliever.”

Justin Bieber

Teen Idol, Justin Bieber may seem friendly and all smiling. Nevertheless, his former neighbors in the stylish Calabasas area of Los Angeles famously couldn’t stand his hell-raising ways. One time, the star had to pay one of his neighbors $80,000 in 2014 after egging their house. Justin Bieber’s old neighbors also said that living next to the pop star was a misery for their families. The singer terrorized his family with loud parties; drug use and aggressive driving. The neighbor added that the music; the parties and the paparazzi felt like living in Lebanon.

Taylor Swift

Taylor used to be a nice neighbor in her neighborhood. This lasted until the pop singer moved tons of coastline rocks to build a massive wall around her mansion in 2013. Though she blamed the rocky move on government officials who mandated her to move rocks that had gone into the ocean back to her property line. Despite her reason, her neighbors in Westerly, Rhode Island, thought it wasn’t nice and claimed she blocked public access to which residents had enjoyed for years. Awww heartbreaking!

David Schwimmer

David Schwimmer was regarded as a no friendliness person in his New York City neighborhood after he picked up a $4.1 million, five-story East Village townhouse that was built in 1852. The building was supposed to be bestowed with a landmark status, but David ripped it down and constructed a 9,000-square-foot, six-storey mansion with an elevator and roof deck. His enraged neighbours then had to express their resentment by gratifying some sarcastic anti-Ross propaganda—”Ross is  not cool”—on a plywood construction board close to the actor’s new pad.

Lenny Kravitz

In 2004, Kravitz was caught in a mess when he was sued by Amica Mutual Insurance Company for water damage sustained to the apartment under his New York City home. As claimed by the company, the damage was caused by a toilet that was spilling over. Apparently, the toilet was blocked, clogged and congested with different materials.” Sound very strange. Consequently, the insurance company was seeking to recoup the $334,000 it had paid out to neighbors living downstairs and Kravitz was asked to pay damages.

The star was sued by a doorman ( who suffered exhaustion, dehydration, and smoke inhalation while trying to evacuate people) and four neighbors in 2013 after a fire burned through her West Hollywood, California, condo. The blaze also caused damages to other apartments nearby and even killed her own dog. Reports claimed the fire erupted from a burning candle that was left unattended. However, the court ruled it as an accident.   But those involved in the case got settled with an undisclosed amount in January 2016. Besides the fire, neighbors had also accused the movie star of having a constant rotation of friends and guests at every hour, and never maintains a close control over her dogs’ barking!

Paris Hilton

Socialite Paris Hilton was too noisy for her neighbors when she was living with her ex-boyfriend Doug Reinhardt in California’s Hollywood Hills. During the five months they lived together in 2009, authorities received countless complaints about their head-splitting volume. Later on, the LAPD, LA City Council and LA City Attorney got involved and warned them with tickets and arrest threats.

Oz’s neighbor, in 2010, sued him for planting trees that obstructed the neighbor’s New York City views. The neighbor also alleged that the trees undervalued his multi-million-dollar home’s value by $500,000. Too bad!


Madonna has been accused of being a bad neighbor severally. In 2009, a neighbor claimed loud music from the Material star’s $7million New York flat was too much to bear. The neighbor described that the rehearsal studio subjected neighbors to ‘blaring music, pounding noise, stomping and shaking walls’ for up to three hours a day. In March 2016, Madonna’s neighbors reported her to Department of Transportation in March 2016 because she had her people clear prime parking spots in front of her $40 million Upper East Side townhouse in New York City. The music icon placed a sign that read “tenant parking only” and also “no parking.” Then she resorted to painting yellow lines on what used to be public spots.

Robert Downey Jr

In 1996 when Robert’s neighbors found him sleeping in their Malibu, California, neighborhood, they thought it was the coolest thing that had happened to the neighborhood. Soon after, they realized that wasn’t cool at all, but trouble to them. Especially because the star was arrested on suspicion of trespassing and being under the influence of a controlled substance. While in handcuffs and was being taken away, he made funny faces at the neighbors’ daughter.

Minnie Driver

TMZ reported that Minnie Driver and her neighbor has been in a prolonged disagreement since 2014. She is being sued for disposing baby food jars full of black paint at her neighbor’s under-construction home in the Hollywood Hills. The neighbor also said that the English actress and songwriter disconnected a shared electronic gate. Not cool Minnie!

Anthony Michael Hall

In 2011,  Anthony  made headlines when he cursed at a neighbor while threatening to beat him until he is injured. The actor also walked up to the neighbor’s door, knocked and beckoned him to a street fight. Police arrested him at his Playa del Rey, California, condo and many thought he had reformed. But no! Just recently, in September 2016, TMZ reported that the actor attacked one of his neighbors and once again police intervened after his neighbor called out for help. The neighbor allegedly broke a wrist and suffered back injury during the ambush. The actor hasn’t commented but the police are currently looking into the matter.

Sean Connery

Sean’s downstairs New York City neighbors described him as a “rude, foul-mouthed, fat old man” in a 2005 lawsuit. They accused him of being noisy with music and producing vibrations that are discomforting. They further claimed that his renovations caused noise, fumes, leaks and even rodent problems.


In 2009, Rihanna dealt with a little bit of litigation for allegedly being a bad neighbor. The pop star’s Los Angeles neighbor claimed that she; her friends and associates habitually wait and park their cars on his driveways and also used his lawn. In 2007, Pauly was sued by Wes Craven for being a careless and less concerned neighbor who never properly maintains his home. This was after water from his home pushed a slope and damaged the director’s property. Wes also claimed the property damage caused him “severe emotional distress and anxiety.” In the lawsuit, Pauly was blamed for upgrading his home with a pool, spa, landscaping and other improvements that destabilized the land and reduced Wes’ property value. Pauly and Wes ended up settling.

Chris’ neighbors — including another celebrity — want him to leave their Tarzana, California, neighborhood for good! The R&B singer has been accused of being a bad neighbor severally. On Aug. 30, 2016, police stormed in Chris’ house in response to a woman’s report that he pulled a gun on her and ordered her to leave during a party at his home. Reports by TMZ alleges the star, on sighting the policemen, flung a duffel bag containing two guns and drugs out of a window.The “Loyal” rapper was taken into custody and charged with assault with a deadly weapon. Go on, get away from here!” He is really one bad neighbor everybody wants out.

James Franco

Neighbours of James Franco at Silver Lake neighborhood in Los Angeles wrote an email to Curbed. Their mail signals that they “like some of his movies,” but they don’t like living next to him. The residents said at first, they were happy to have him around but the feelings changed over time. His home suddenly seems to house “a MAJOR production company with blocked driveway. The neighbors also complained that their yards are used for meetings and they’re made to feel uncomfortable and strange when they walk to their cars. That’s not nice!
