Singing was not her initial interest
While growing up, Salaz loved to get involved in sports activities, especially in soccer but thanks to her mother who got her enrolled into army children singing competition, she was able to discover her singing talent at the age f 12. Bryana Salaz who relocated with her parents to Hawaii following her father’s official duty was initially reluctant about the singing contest but she later discovered that she felt happy performing on stage before a crowd. Even after the competition, Salaz continued to perform on stage on people’s request. She performed at Kapiolani Park event for Martin Luther King Jr. and at Don Ho’s Island Grill. She was even invited to a D.A.R.E. event to sing the US national anthem before a wide crowd of about ten thousand.
Bryana Salaz was trained by Hawaii’s top vocal trainer
Encouraged to take her singing career to a higher level, she enrolled for voice training under Hawaii’s top vocal trainer, Yvonne Iversen. After undergoing rigorous training, she participated in the Iolani Talent Competition in 2010. The same year, she auditioned at the Shafter Richardson Theatre for the musical play, High School Musical 2 and although she performed excellently in the play, she was considered too young for any role. Eventually, Bryana was offered a role as ‘Jr. Sharpettes in the play. Her performance in the High School Musical 2 helped to earn her more acting roles in musical plays.
She joined ‘America’s Got Talent at 14 years old
Bryana Salaz never gave up her singing career despite moving from place to place with her family. Instead, she took the challenge to make a name for herself everywhere she went. Moving back to Atlanta, Georgia with her family in 2011, she auditioned for America’s Got Talent and was able to make it to the advanced rounds in Las Vegas. Pursuing her singing and acting career simultaneously, she signed with the J. Pervis Talent Agency where she received a role as part of children’s choir in the film Joyful Noise. She also appeared as a guest in the TV sitcom, Tyler Perry’s House of Payne.

Bryana Salaz’s rise to fame started after she joined the Season 7 of America’s biggest singing talent competition series, The Voice. During that period, she was living with her family in San Antonio, Texas. Heeding the advice of Gwen Stefani who was one of the three coaches in the competition, Brayana performed a cover of Ariana Grande‘s “Problem.” Despite being applauded for her performance in the competition, Salaz was eventually eliminated during The Live Playoffs.

Not deterred by her failure to reach the top 12 in the singing competition, The Voice, the bold and beautiful singer moved further with her singing career. First, she signed with a new manager, Michael Scott then she joined a girl band under the name Sweet Suspense. However, she left the band in September the same year. The following year, she was cast as Princess Daisy in the second season of the Disney Channel’s Best Friends Whenever.
