He was raised in Minneapolis where he is said to have fallen in love with acting. For a good part of his childhood, Flynn sought to live a life as an actor, but his first attempts at living that life got derailed in high school where he was overcome with stage fright.
Post high school, Billy Flynn traded stage fright for the fear of public speaking and because of this, chose a career in Finance. Following his decision to retire his finance career and finally chase his dream to become an actor, Flynn headed to Los Angeles and took on his first onscreen role, an appearance in a Taco Bell commercial. This led to further opportunities for him as he was cast for a role in a short film, 80 in 10 and in the following year as Nick Spitz in the television series, Hawaii Five-0.
He got his first appearance in a feature-length film in 2017 when he was cast as Sam Collins in Dead on Arrival and in the same year as Victor in Escape Room.
