The traditional road for aspiring actors has often always been acting experiences through high school, then some time spent in college or a film academy where one studies acting or a variation of the subject before stepping into the industry for auditions. That has, however, not been the story of William Flynn, who is more popularly known as Billy Flynn.
It is not every day that one learns of a former financial analyst who abandons his career in the highly lucrative industry for a life as an actor but that is exactly what Flynn did in 2013 and he has been able to build a pretty decent career for himself, particularly through Days of Our Lives, a soap opera on NBC.

Billy Flynn Biography
Billy Flynn was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on the 29th of May, 1985 to parents whose identities are at the moment unknown. He was raised in Minneapolis where he is said to have fallen in love with acting. For a good part of his childhood, Flynn sought to live a life as an actor, but his first attempts at living that life got derailed in high school where he was overcome with stage fright.
Post high school, Billy Flynn traded stage fright for the fear of public speaking and because of this, chose a career in Finance. He attended St. Cloud State University where he earned a degree in Finance. He worked as an intern for Accenture in 2007, taking the role of a financial analyst, before he eventually found the courage to pursue his dream. He left the role at Accenture for Warner Bros. Studios where he got closer to a career in Hollywood.
Following his decision to retire his finance career and finally chase his dream to become an actor, Flynn headed to Los Angeles and took on his first onscreen role, an appearance in a Taco Bell commercial. This led to further opportunities for him as he was cast for a role in a short film, 80 in 10 and in the following year as Nick Spitz in the television series, Hawaii Five-0.
He got his first appearance in a feature-length film in 2017 when he was cast as Sam Collins in Dead on Arrival and in the same year as Victor in Escape Room. In 2014, he began to star in the NBC soap opera Days of Our Lives as Chad DiMera, holding the role for five years and appearing in over 400 episodes.
Billy’s Career Achievements and What He is Doing Now
Billy Flynn has watched his career and popularity grow ever since he began to star on Days of Our Lives (DOOL) as Chad DiMera. He got the role in 2014, after just a year of committing to a life as an actor. According to the man himself, his road to the role wasn’t exactly a smooth as he had to compete with over 300 actors who auditioned for the role.
Since he got the role of Chad DiMera, he has appeared on the over 50-year-old show playing the troubled ex-boyfriend of another character, Mia McCormick.
The character has been in existence in 2009 and was originally played by Casey Deidrick who left the show in 2013 before Billy Flynn took over the mantle. He starred on the show for a total of 406 episodes before he left the show on the 21st of February 2019.
Billy Flynn is returning to Days of our Lives. While no airdate has been released yet, Flynn recently talked about his and Kate Mansi’s return as Chad and Abigail DiMera to Soap Opera Digest and revealed how his time away resulted in some much-needed self-care.
