One of her parents, Garry Smith was a notable baseball player, who at the height of his career, played for teams like Kansas City in the Professional Baseball League. For the better part of her childhood, Beth Smith spent it in Denver, Colorado. However, in 1989, she moved to Hawaii, where she has lived to date.

What led to her death?
Most recently, Beth Smith was in the news for the return of a throat cancer she battled in 2017. The throat cancer’s journey was filmed by Beth Smith and her husband, Duane Chapman, into a documentary titled Dog and Beth: Fight of Their Lives and it returned in November 2018, a little over a year after her first diagnosis. She was forced to have emergency surgery in a hospital in Los Angeles.
On June 26, 2019, she passed away at the age of 51 while hospitalized in Honolulu, Hawaii.
