Amy Freeze is an American television meteorologist who has been a media personality for a long time. During this time, she attained a reputation as one of the most revered persons in the field of weather forecasting. Amy Freeze was born on the 19th day of June in 1974. The weather forecaster was born in Utah, a state in the western United States. However, she was raised in Indiana after her family moved there following her birth. Even though everyone now calls her Amy Freeze, her birth name is Amy Elizabeth Freeze.

Amy happens to be the first child of her parents. She has four siblings who were born after her. Her siblings are all girls who have been identified as Jessica, Emily, Cami, and Lindsey Freeze. Growing up, the sisters had an awesome time together and have remained fond of themselves over the years. Amy Freeze’s father has been identified as Bill Freeze and her mother’s name has been revealed to be Linda Freeze.

Amy attended the Jeffersonville High School located in Jeffersonville, Indiana, and graduated in 1992 when she was about 18 years old (recently, she shared a picture of her graduation day). She proceeded to attend the Brigham Young University located at Provo, Utah and graduated in 1995 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications. Amy did not stop there, she went on to attend the Mississippi State University from where she acquired a Bachelor of Science degree in Geosciences. She also studied for a Master’s degree at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.

Apparently, the journey to where her career is at this time was well thought out and she has worked hard for it. Armed with her qualifications, Amy has since gone on to make an enviable career as a media personality in America.

Career Timeline Of The Television Meteorologist

Amy Freeze started her career by working for WCAU, an NBC owned-and-operated television station in Philadelphia. At the TV station, she served as a meteorologist who intrigued fans with her sound knowledge of the weather. She was also the co-host of a live entertainment show called 10! at the station. According to sources, during this time, Amy also worked as a substitute for NBC’s Weekend Today and MSNBC at the Rockefeller Center in New York City. Apparently, she is not only grounded in forecasting the weather.

Already gaining loads of experience and getting better on the job, Amy Freeze went on to work at both KWGN and KMGH in the city of Denver, Colorado. Shortly afterward, she fuelled her broadcasting career when she landed a job at KPTV, a Fox-affiliated television station in Portland, Oregon. There, she worked on the Good Day Oregon show.

Amy soon joined WFLD, a Fox owned-and-operated television station in Chicago where she made a record as the first female Chief Meteorologist. She held the job from 2007 to 2011 and at this time, she had become so grounded in meteorology and was widely respected for that.

While in Chicago, Amy won the admiration of many people after she started paying a visit to more than 10,000 students every year to give them weather presentations on tornadoes and other forms of severe weather conditions. Amy also hosted the first-ever Weather Education Days for some Major League Baseball clubs, including the Chicago White Sox and the Chicago Cubs.

In 2011, after she left WFLD, Amy Freeze joined WABC-TV, a flagship station of the ABC television network in New York City. She still works at the station as the weekend meteorologist and has already gained quite a large number of fans who now follow her on social media.

The television personality used to be married to a man identified as Gary Arbuckle, her college sweetheart whom she met while she was studying at Brigham Young University. Gary is a chiropractor who loves his job in the medical field.

After dating for a while, Amy and Gary tied the knot in August 1994. The marriage produced four children, including three boys identified as Tyler, Jared, and Williams, and one beautiful girl called Kate. Unlike their mother, Freeze’s children are not engaged in any profession that would make them public figures. Nothing is known about their career so far. Amy and Gary are very fond of their kids and have tried to give them the best life possible, even though things are no longer as they used to be between them.

Amy and Gary remained married for 20 years, however, despite their two-decades-old love and the lovely children they share, the couple could not live together as husband and wife forever.

In 2014, after two decades of being married to each other, Amy and Gary decided to get a divorce. The exact reason for the divorce is still unclear at the moment. However, they are co-parenting their kids as responsible adults. Freeze currently resides in Manhattan.
