Amy Freeze was born on the 19th day of June in 1974. The weather forecaster was born in Utah, a state in the western United States. However, she was raised in Indiana after her family moved there following her birth. Even though everyone now calls her Amy Freeze, her full birth name is actually Amy Elizabeth Freeze.
Amy happens to be the first child of her parents. She has four other siblings who were born after her; all girls who have been identified as Jessica, Emily, Cami, and Lindsey Freeze. Growing up, the sisters had an awesome time together and have remained fond of themselves over the years. Amy Freeze’s father has been identified as Bill Freeze and her mother’s name has been revealed to be Linda Freeze.
Amy attended the Jeffersonville High School located in Jeffersonville, Indiana and graduated in 1992 when she was about 18 years old. She proceeded to attend the Brigham Young University located at Provo, Utah and graduated in 1995 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications. Amy did not stop there, she went on to attend the Mississippi State University from where she acquired a Bachelor of Science degree in Geosciences. Amy Freeze started her career by working for WCAU, an NBC owned-and-operated television station in Philadelphia. At WCAU, Amy served as a meteorologist who intrigued fans with her knowledge of the weather. She was also the co-host of a live entertainment show called 10! at the station. According to sources, during this time, Amy also worked as a substitute for NBC’s Weekend Today and MSNBC at the Rockefeller Center in New York City.
Already gaining loads of experience and getting better on the job, Amy Freeze went on to work at both KWGN and KMGH in the city of Denver, Colorado. Shortly after, she kick-started her broadcasting career when she landed a job at KPTV, a Fox-affiliated television station in Portland, Oregon. There, she worked on the Good Day Oregon show.
Amy soon joined WFLD, a Fox owned-and-operated television station in Chicago where she became the very first female Chief Meteorologist. At this time, she had become so grounded in meteorology and was widely respected for that. While in Chicago, Amy won the admiration of many people after she started paying a visit to more than 10,000 students every year to give them weather presentations on tornadoes and other forms of severe weather conditions.
