Amal Clooney came out with a bang when she began dating a famous actor, George Clooney. At first, it looked like Clooney was all there is to her, but before George, Amal made a name for herself as one of the most famous human rights lawyers in the world.
Her passion and dedication for her job set her apart from her colleagues and, with the additional popularity she gained from her marriage, she has certainly not held back in doing the good work.
How Her Relationship with George Clooney Took Off
For many people in Holywood, the Goerge-Amal’s relationship and eventual marriage is something of an inspiration. They were not like the usual Hollywood couple that the media knew everything about. This is probably because George was tagged the proverbial eligible bachelor and as such, no one truly expected much out of his then-new love interest.
The pair met at a Fundraising event through a mutual friend in September. According to George, he took an instant liking to her. By the next month – October, they were spotted having dinner together at Berners Tavern in London. Soon, they became inseparable and by March 2014, they were jetting around together.
By April, it circulated that the most eligible bachelor in Hollywood has finally found the one. This came as a surprise to many as George was 52 at the time. What’s more, he explained that he took time to plan the proposal and even got on his knees to do it. Of course, she said yes and it’s been bliss since then.
Most recently, before the news of the twins, it was rumoured that the pair were headed for a divorce because Amal wanted kids and George was hesitant about such huge responsibility. However, after all the rumors, the two went ahead to have their twin babies and have become doting parents to baby Ella and Alex.
They Only Invited 100 People For Their Wedding
George and Amal announced their engagement in April 2014 and tied the knot on the 27th of September 2014. The beautiful bride wore an Oscar de la Renta bridal gown for the private ceremony.
The wedding was big and took a lot of planning. It took place in Venice Italy where they first met with only 100 guests in attendance. The wedding was a big deal because Amal married a really famous celebrity. The guests who were privileged to be in attendance could not get over how in love the couple was.
The occasion was star-studded even though it was just for very close friends and family.
The Big Deal About Amal’s Pregnancy
After their wedding in September 2014, George and Amal threw themselves back to work, but by January 2017, rumors came up that Amal was pregnant. It all began when Lebanon’s Daily Star cited a family source and made a bold claim about Amal being pregnant with twins.
Amal tried to hide it at the time but the ever snooping eye of the media searched it out. Thanks to her rather oversized floral dress at the screening of Netflix’s documentary The While Helmets. In addition to that, other people who attended the event attested that she drank only water all through.
Finally, on February 9, Talk host Julie Chen confirmed the story about Amal and George expecting twins. This was quickly followed by rumours that they used fertility treatment to conceive the children.
Amal And George Clooney’s Kids
On June 6, 2017, Amal gave birth to twin kids, a girl named Ella and a boy named Alexander. After the birth of the twins, Amal and her husband took time from their various busy scheduled to get in tune with what it means to be parents to not one but two children at once.
Concerning how they chose names for the twins, George said:
‘We just didn’t want to have really dumb names. We figured these kids are going to be looked at a lot and watched and [have their] every move sort of judged, and we wanted them to at least have a break with the names.
‘So we looked for some sort of normal names. We didn’t have any great inspiration. It wasn’t Alexander the Great and Ella Fitzgerald,’
Amal finally returned to work in September but does her best to carve out time for their various family outings with the twins as well as dinner dates and alone time with her husband.

As a lawyer and human rights activist, Amal has been involved in very big cases that fetched her huge bucks. Suffice it to say that she has amassed quite a fortune for herself from her activities as a lawyer.
Amal worked at Sullivan & Cromwell in New York City for three years as part of the Criminal Defense and Investigations Group which included the criminal probe of Enron and Arthur Andersen. She also worked in the Office of the Prosecutor at the U.N. Special Tribunal for Lebanon and at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia where she was a part of several high profile cases.
